The town is known as featuring the highest density of listed historical buildings per square foot in France and it is lovely to amble through the cobbled streets, stopping in the square for a drink and to watch the world go by, whilst listening to the street artists play their music.
Nearby you can rent canoes and paddle down the beautiful Dordogne river, passing enchanting chateaux and picturesque villages.
