Description
We have created a small child-friendly gîte complex (4 gîtes and a chambre d'hôte) in the heart of the Haute Saintonge. We are situated in a small village (approx 170 inhabitants) surrounded by vines and fields of sunflowers - in the summer.
Chèvrefeuille is a two storey cottage style gîte with exposed beams.
To the rear is a secluded private terrace and parking for two cars. The terrace includes a dining table and chairs, relaxer chairs and BBQ.
Inside, on the ground floor (42m²), there is fully fitted and equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area. There is a TV ( satellite ) and DVD player.
Bedroom 3 (11m²) is also on the ground floor, it has a double bed (140cm), wardrobe and chest of drawers.
On the first floor there is a large light and airy master bedroom (20m²) it has a king size (160cm) bed with an ensuite shower room. There is a large mirrored wardobe and 3 chests of drawers.
Bedroom 2 (12m²) has 4 single beds but can be adapted to have a king size bed ( 160cm ) and 2 single beds.
The adjacent family bathroom has a shower cubicle, toilet and vanity unit with wash hand basin.
All of our gîtes are family friendly with potties, toilet booster seats and steps in all gîtes. We also have available, at no cost, travel cots, bed guards, stairgates, high chairs, plastic cutlery and crockery etc.
In a separate building is the shared laundry room / library. This room has 2 washing machines, iron and ironing . Books for adults and children together with DVDs in both English and French. There is also a selection of tourist information.
Within the garden there is a 50m² secure, toddlers' play area with slide, sandpit, baby swing, play house etc. Elsewhere there is a trampoline and a sturdy swing / slide combination.
Elsewhere in the garden is our fully secured heated salt water swimming pool (11m x 5m). The pool is surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers, a solar shower and toilet. There is also a large pavilion with further loungers giving shade from the Charentais sun.
