Description

A 16th-century 'Pavillon de Chasse' with a lovely lake view at the front and meadow at the back. Beds in 2 rooms are king-size, and the other 2 can be super kings or made into two singles. When using the bunk beds for kids in the pigeonnier, the house can sleep a total of 10. Upstairs bathrooms are newly done this Spring and Starlink wifi has been added to get over the country weak wifi hump.

The house is peaceful, in the rural area but well positioned. It's a 3 min walk, out of the door, to vineyards and a 10-minute walk to the tabac or the local restaurant. The Chateau, a supermarket and more places to eat are at Duras, a 10 min drive away. It's 35 mins drive to Bergerac airport. Canoeing and kayaking are 20 minutes away and the popular town of Eymet is 20 minutes in the other direction.

The house is more period feel upstairs, with the kitchen and dining room, living room and 2 main bedrooms - one with an en suite, the other has a separate bathroom - and the pigeonnier is off the first bedroom. The garden, pool and terrace are also on this level. Downstairs is more modern in style, with it's own living area and the TV.

Perfect!

By sandra yates on 07-Sep-2024

What a wonderful house to holiday in! We were 10 adults in total, so using all the accommodation, and there was still plenty of space ! The house is so well equipped and had everything we needed and more! The beds were super comfy with beautiful cotton Egyptian bedding. Towels were provided along with pool towels. The bathrooms , especially the newly refurbished ones were great, with upper showers and always plenty of hot water. We ate outside on the veranda mainly, although were forced inside due to mixed weather! We were still able to sit 10 around the dinning table. We even lit the fire in the upstairs lounge one evening which made the room super cosy and warm! We used the BBQ just once, but this is in a lovely sunny area! We also played table tennis, which was great fun and enjoyed the archery! Jane ( local housekeeper) was helpful on our arrival and again when we saw her on our departure. A lovely house in a lovely area! Would love to go back! Thank you Nick for sharing your lovely holiday home!

Stunning Place

Absolutely stunning place! The house is huge and beautiful inside, particularly the bedrooms and bathrooms on the top floor. Wonderful, big kitchen with everything one needs and more. Beautiful terrace and a lovely pool. Enough space to play ball games on the grass. Very much enjoyed the ping pong table. Duras is 8min away and a lovely town. Recommend the night market there on Thursdays. We were two families with 4 children aged 11-15 and everyone had a fantastic time and hardly wanted to leave the place. Nick was a great host, responding always very quickly to any emails.

Gibbard/Pilllard/Boylan week

Lovely, characterful and spacious house in a glorious setting. We very much enjoyed our stay, in spite of the mosquitoes! The children loved it and are keen to return on another occasion. Ideal for an extended family like ours. Jayne, the local agent, was charming and very helpful. On the down side, the directions to find the property weren't great and it's a bit cheeky to ask visitors to help manage the pool-cleaning machine when they've paid a lot of money to stay in the house. Overall, minor niggles that didn't spoil a very good visit.

What a fabulous place, we felt at home from the start. Great communication at all stages, we had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. The house is in a great location to explore the area and Nick had provided top tips for our stay. We were sorry to leave and wouldn’t hesitate to re-book. Thank you Nick for your hospitality!
