Description

Quiet and secluded old Normandy farmhouse, renovated to a high standard to provide 3 bedroom accommodation with separate kitchen and huge lounge/diner. Large family bathroom upstairs with additional downstairs cloakroom. Fenced in gardens both behind and in front of the house; perfect for enjoying the early morning and evening sun.
St Sauveur de Carrouges is set within the huge Normandie-Maine national park in this beautifully quiet and unspoilt part of Normandy. The town of Carrouges with its wonderful chateau is a 5 minute drive from the house, with the delightful towns of Bagnoles, Argentan and La Ferté Macé all just a short distance away. It is within easy reach of the Normandy beaches and other historic monuments and sites from WW2.
All bed linen and towels provided. Free wifi and a cosy log burner for cool evenings.

Please note that, although the ceilings are very high, there are some low doorways in the house.

Fantastic spot for a family holiday

By Rachel on 07-Aug-2024

We really enjoyed our stay at the property in August 2024. Since the owners use the property for their own holidays, it is really well equipped with all the little things you can't be sure of for a self-catering property (washing up liquid etc!). The main garden was a great space for the children to play in and the area is really quiet. Local activities included visiting Falaise (castle, swimming pool), swimming in the lifeguarded lake at La Ferte Mace (free), cycle rides, kayaking from Pont D'Ouilly and testing various patisseries. Tessa was very helpful in suggesting activities before we arrived too. Thank you for a great holiday.

Lovely area

We really enjoyed exploring this part of Normandy. The house had everything we needed and more, it was comfortable and well-equipped and well situated to explore the Orne region.

Little gem in beautiful country side

By Marion and Charles on 06-Sep-2023

We stayed a long week in this charming cottage, very quiet village but close enough to the essential shops to not be cut off completely. House was very comfortable with plenty of space, but then it was only 2 of us. Outside furniture was a bit sparse. We enjoyed the forests and old towns of Normandy, Sees was a surprise, and so was Domfront and the lovely forest paths. Farmers markets great to get some excellent French produce. All in all, worth returning to!
