Description

The Old Dairy is set in glorious open countryside on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire border, providing luxury accommodation of 3 beds with 3 bathrooms. There is a private garden and a hot-tub, located on an equestrian property/farm. Enjoy a relaxed Sunday as there is always late check out time at 4pm on a Sunday allowing guests to enjoy the full weekend.

The private garden is perfect for outside dining, relaxing and the hot-tub which is available all year round. We are in a very rural location with excellent walking, cycling & other activities close by. You’ll love it because of its beamed ceilings, fabulous kitchen in large open plan living area with log burner and doors opening onto the garden. There is a comfy snug to hide away if you want a bit of quiet to curl up with a book or if you want just switch on the TV and choose a film.

It is a great place for celebrating special occasions, whether it is a birthday or anniversary with family and friends and you want luxurious accommodation in a convenient location for different guests travelling from varying parts of the UK. We are about halfway between London and Birmingham – near both the A1 and M1 so good for guests coming from all directions.

The house is presented with beautiful linen, towels and toiletries from The White Company and the pantry is always well stocked as well as a generous welcome hamper for breakfast. There is late check out time at 4pm on a Sunday allowing guests to enjoy the full weekend. Our standard check in time is 2pm and check-out is 11am but we will always be flexible when we can and check out on Sunday and Bank Holidays is always 4pm.

The space
There is a fabulous open plan living space compromising kitchen, dining and living area with a woodburner and TV under the high beamed ceiling. If you want a bit of chill time there is a snug where you can snuggle up with a book or watch TV away from the main living area. Downstairs there is a boot-room to leave all your muddy boots and coats with a downstairs WC.
All the bedroom suites have their own luxury bathrooms. The master suite is on the first floor with a Super-King bed and the other 1st floor bedroom suite, at the other end of the house, also has a Super-King bed that can be split into two single beds.
There is one bedroom suite on the ground floor with its own luxury bathroom with walk-in shower and freestanding bath.
All the bedrooms have their own desks. There is a gallery with a desk/workspace overlooking the main living area.

The house is eco-friendly as heating is powered by a ground source heat pump.
There is a hot-tub set on a private terrace available all year round. There is an additional £75 charge for this and it includes bathrobes and spa towels for all guests during their stay.

Things to do - there are lots of activities all within 15mins of the property in addition to the fabulous walks directly from the property (so no walking on the road). Locally there are activities such as high ropes, clay pigeon shooting and sailing at Grafham Water. Cambridge City is only 45 mins away punting on the river through the historic city is a wonderful day out. There are many gastro pubs nearby and we provide lots of recommendations for both restaurants and activities. The nearest two pubs are just over a mile away so many guests walk there and leave a car so they can drive back!

It is perfect for working from ‘home’ as there is a desk in every bedroom and a workspace on the gallery all supported by super-fast broadband. Or turn off all the electronics and relax in the tranquility of the space or embrace the outside - jump on your bike, or pull on your walking shoes and enjoy the local bridleways and footpaths - you don't even have to go on a single road if you don't want to.

Accessibility
There is parking on gravel and the vehicles can park very close to the paved paths. There are no steps on the paved paths to the doors into the house. There is a single step-up into the house at all entrances, but then the ground floor is all on one level with no steps. On the ground floor there is a bedroom and bathroom with free standing bath and walk in shower, this works well for someone with limited mobility but unfortunately the internal doorways are not wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like more information, specific photos or measurements that would help you plan your stay.

Even better than the pictures

By Shabz on 08-Dec-2024

We had a wonderful weekend at The Old Dairy as a group of 5 friends. It’s absolutely gorgeous and somehow even better than the pictures! Very large and spacious but still very homely. It’s been beautifully decorated and everything has been finished to a very high standard. We felt right at home as soon as we entered. Miranda is an amazing host and has thought of every little detail. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and was perfect for cooking a Christmas dinner. The Old Dairy is well stocked with all amenities so we needn’t worry had we forgotten anything. The surrounding area was beautiful and peaceful and it was lovely to watch the horses being ridden from the garden. Miranda was so friendly and always quick to respond, going above and beyond to offer us anything we may need. It was the perfect place for our group to celebrate Christmas together! I wouldn’t hesitate to book The Old Dairy again. The most amazing holiday home I have ever stayed in with the best host! Thank you!

Couldn't recommend it enough

By Helen on 24-Nov-2024

Miranda and Damian were excellent hosts. The place is beautiful - the pictures in the listing don’t do it justice. Really well stocked larder, fully equipped kitchen, games, hot tub, everything you could wish for! Had a lovely weekend with friends - 3 couples - plenty of space. Great kitchen for prepping meals and a toastie log burner for cozy evenings. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Perfect weekend - lovely peaceful location

By Ryan on 29-Oct-2024

We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Dairy! The accommodation was beautiful, really clean and in a lovely peaceful location! The host has really put a lot of time and effort into making sure you have everything you need during your stay. From a welcome food hamper full of breakfast items and snacks (which for us - with 3 children is such a nice touch and saves the hassle of getting the essentials in on a short stay) to mini toothbrush and razor sets and products in each bathroom. We really appreciated these touches. Miranda was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. We paid the extra to have the hot tub for the two days and it was more than worth it, we all enjoyed using it. Check in and check out was easy and relaxed. Thank you very much.

Perfect stay

We had the most perfect stay in Miranda’s beautiful home, celebrating our friends birthday! From booking Miranda was so helpful and responsive, helping with lots of recommendations to plan our weekend. Fro the moment we arrived everything was beyond our expectations and Miranda went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time - from lending us wellies, to the generous welcome pack! The house was incredible - so clean, spacious, with every amenity you could possible need! We could recommend this air BnB enough, thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Relaxing and luxurious stay

By Laurie on 20-Sep-2024

The Old Dairy is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay. Miranda has really thought of everything to make staying there easy and luxurious! The welcome hamper was such a nice touch. The house was beautifully designed and furnished, very clean, really comfortable beds, great kitchen for cooking, bathroom products were lovely. The garden and setting was beautiful. The hot tub was a fun added feature which we enjoyed! Miranda was very helpful and responsive before we came and sent lots of helpful information. We didn’t have any issues during our stay, everything was wonderful. Loved the welcome from the dogs when we arrived! We all really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. Thanks very much.
