Ancient Provençal Mas
Nestling in a secluded valley in the unspoilt hills of authentic Haute Provence and in le Parc naturel régional des Baronnies provençales, this beautifully restored, ancient farmhouse is set in 2.35 hectares of private grounds containing fruit orchards, wild flower meadows, a secret valley and mountain stream. The house is set in a spectacular mountain landscape. The location combines the peace and tranquility of rural France with easy access to some of the most famous sites in Provence, Hautes Alpes and the Drôme. There is wildlife in abundance to be seen around the house: wild boar, roe and fallow deer, red squirrels, hares, eagles and many different varieties of birds, insects and butterflies. In May and June one can hear nightingales and sometimes, on a summer night, the churring of a nightjar. The area is famous for its 'black skies'.The house is comfortably furnished, with three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a third separate wc, kitchen, living room and south facing terraces. A car is essential. The nearest airport is Marseille (2¼ hours) and there are TGV stations at Avignon and Valence.
