Location

Perfectly located to explore most of Cornwall. Being within a short drive to both North & South coast beaches & just 5 miles from the nearest beach at Portreath. The cottages are only 1.5 miles to Redruth town & Lanner village is just a short walk away. Handy for Falmouth, Truro, St Ives, Marazion, The Lizard & many other unique locations to explore.

Cycling & Walking

A cyclist and walkers paradise, being close to the network of trails. Running close by is the Tresavean Tramway, steeped in tin mining history and now a rural haven, perfect to explore on foot or bike, linking to the huge network of Cornish off-road trails. If you are a keen walker and fancy a trip to Lanner village, its’s just 10 mins (0.5 miles) walk down the tree lined road. You will find the local spar shop, the pub in the square and take away fish and chips. A little further, is the village bakery, with freshly made proper pasties, bread and cakes.

Outside

You will have all the space and fresh air you could ever want, with unspoilt bird song & wild natural surroundings. Take a break on a seat by your cottage or venture into our 4 Acres of wild meadows where you can relax, whilst taking in the spectacular views of the Cornish landscape. So why not grab your wine & bbq and watch the sun go down and see the glorious expanse of the stars.

What you can enjoy

Both cottages have massive super-comfy beds – which can be divided into 2 single beds upon request at booking. Many guests have commented upon how comfortable they are.

There’s fully adjustable underfloor heating on the ground floor so bring your Netflix details for the Smart TV and watch a good movie – just remember to bring your slippers.

Just to make your stay even more special we’ve added plenty of extras - Shower gel, hand wash & toilet rolls to get you started. We also include many cooking essentials in the kitchen, although all the take-ways deliver here from Redruth. There’s also the highly recommended Fox & Hounds nearby at Comford, so you really don’t have to cook if you don’t want to – a real home from home and a 5 star stay.

So which cottage will you pick?

We found Sam and Martin very welcoming. We were only down for a long weekend but would have liked to have stayed longer. We would definitely recommend the cottages to our friends and hope we can return later in the year. Everything was perfect.

Just got home from a 4 night stay at Quirky Cottage. Wow what can I say…. The lovely hosts Sam and Martin were there to greet us and explain a few things and then they left us to it but we’re always around should we have any questions. The cottage was lovely and very well equipped and we really enjoyed the scones, clotted cream and jam Sam and Martin left for us along with the milk! We brought our dog ‘Kaizer’ and there was everything there for him too along with some treats! It really was perfect in every way. The location is ideal for exploring Cornwall and if you bring your dog there is 4 acres behind the cottage to explore and walk. I would highly recommend coming to Quirky Cottage! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sam and Martin were fantastic hosts - they were really friendly and shared some great recommendations about places to eat and things to do near by. We brought our dog with us and she loved exploring the fields behind the cottage. The cottage was beautiful, clean and tidy, we had everything we needed to have a relaxing stay.

Superb place to stay, the hosts are fantastic and could not do enough for us. Quirky cottage was pristine. The grounds and location are wonderful, had the weather been nicer it would have been lovely of an evening to sit out with the bbq supplied. Highly recommend a stay here. Keep up the hard work Sam and Martin, your doing a fantastic job.. Hope to return again.. Rooms 5.0 Service 5.0 Location 5.0 Hotel highlights Great view · Quiet · Great value
