Description
Fancy a break in the heart of rural Charente? Staying on an old farmstead, surrounded by nothing but farms, fields, vines and trees. In a sleepy commune of only 100 residents, a peaceful and tranquil holiday is assured.We have three lovely bedrooms available to rent.
Please note: The estimated price shown on Simply Owners is for a booking for all THREE ROOMS and includes Tourist Tax for six adults. Prices will be lower for one or two rooms and the amount of tax will reduce accordingly.
Book Les Chagnasses for two adults, and you will be staying in The Stables Gîte. You will be our only guests, enjoying exclusive use of all the amenities. No sharing!
The Stables is a spacious two room Gîte with everything you need for the perfect holiday. Your kitchen area is fully equipped with a cooker, hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Your lounge area has a large Chesterfield sofa, Smart TV, breakfast bar, dining table and pellet burner. Your bedroom has a king size four poster bed, wardrobe and drawers, and silent fan. There's also an ensuite shower room with washing machine, WC and towel dryer.
You have a private swimming pool, with summer lounge, terrace and lawns. We encourage you to use the lounge as an extension of your Gîte. There’s another comfy sofa, picnic table, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee machine, Internet radio/CD player, books, jigsaws and board games. Take your lunch and your towels, and enjoy a day by the pool.
You also have a Games Room with table tennis, darts, boules and cornhole.
Next door you have Le Rodin, your self-serve bar area with indoor and outdoor seating, private BBQ, firepit and Adirondack chairs.
You also have your own private gardens, fields and woodland with a great choice of picnic tables and benches.
Book Les Chagnasses for four adults, and the second couple will be staying in The Pigeonnier Gîte. The four of you will have exclusive use of all the amenities. You'll only be sharing with those you invite
The Pigeonnier is a self-contained, all-in-one holiday home. You have a large living area with king size four poster bed, wardrobes and drawers, comfy Chesterfield sofa, Smart TV, dining table and pellet burner. You have a separate kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee machine and small hob. Next door you have a shower room with washing machine, WC and towel dryer.
Book Les Chagnasses for six adults, and the third couple will be staying in The Spare Room. And again, you will only be sharing with those you have invited.
The Spare Room has a four poster king size bed, breakfast bar with coffee machine, wardrobe and drawers. There's also a separate shower room with WC. There are no kitchen facilities but you do have access to a fridge freezer and microwave in the poolside lounge.
Whether there’s just the two of you, or you wish to invite friends or family, Les Chagnasses is a wonderful place to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature.
Your hosts, Mike & Claire, live in the old farmhouse. We're close by if you need us, always happy to help, but the host and guest areas have been carefully divided, and you may well feel that you are completely on your own!

It is a really peaceful place and everything was clean, taken good care off and there is so much to do. The eye for detail that the owners have is absolutely amazing and lifts the experience up even more. We can only recommend it! Thank you for the peace and help.

By J&N on 31-Aug-2023Blissful We were looking for peace and quiet and Les Chagnasses was the perfect place for this - we loved everything about it. The accommodation was beautiful and had everything we needed to cater for ourselves and sleep really well. Mike and Claire have thought of everything and made this a really special place. We had a heat wave during our stay, but there were so many places to sit in the shade (or the sun) that we were perfectly comfortable. The pool is lovely and the view from there is gorgeous, the wood behind the stables is a beautiful place to relax and feel at one with nature. We loved having our own bar and pool house and enjoyed meeting the hens and listening to their chatter. A magical place.
