Description

Oak Tree Cottage is nestled on the edge of the tranquil village of Pilley, near the coastal town of Lymington. With forest tracks on the doorstep, it is ideally situated for exploring the countryside of the New Forest National Park and villages along the South coast. The local ponies and donkeys are frequent visitors to our lane, as they roam freely in the immediate area. The cottage is tastefully furnished and well equipped, with ample parking; There is a large family kitchen diner, and sunny conservatory leading on to a large, completely private and sheltered rear garden. A table tennis table, garden furniture and a barbecue are provided for the summer months. We supply a travel cot, high chair, childrens' dinnerware and pre-school toys upon request. High-speed WIFI included. Children are very welcome, but sorry, we don't allow pets.

We are a couple who love to travel, and we endeavour to give our guests an experience that we ourselves would expect from a holiday cottage. We provide the extra touches which help to make our guests really feel at home. We live a short distance from Oak Tree Cottage with our family of 3 boys, and we are countryside lovers. We're always happy to provide recommendations for activities/places to visit/restaurants and pubs in the local area. Please take a look at our website for more photographs and further information, or send us an enquiry.

A peaceful retreat

By Pat, Devon on 16-Sep-2024

Set at the end of a quiet village lane, Oak Tree Cottage and its sunny lawned garden is an ideal holiday home at the end of a day out. The owners have certainly gone the extra mile to thoughtfully and thoroughly equip it to ensure you don't have to take half your kitchen with you! The open heathland is a stroll down the road and lots of lovely places to visit are within easy reach. This delightful, traditional cottage provides the perfect peaceful getaway.

Perfect

By Francesca on 01-Dec-2023

A lovely cottage, perfect for what we wanted, which was a cosy family weekend. An easy walk to see some beautiful ponies and great things to do in the area, although we didn''''''''t want to leave the cottage! Beautifully appointed, lovely books, games and toys thoughtfully provided and a fantastic price. We would highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!

A Dream

By Catherine on 18-Oct-2023

Jenny and Ian''''''''s place was a dream. So clean, comfortable, and a haven to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. The place was squeeky clean. The kitchen was amazingly large. We loved the big sized fridge and regular sized dishwasher and washing machine. The welcome gift was a lovely touch and made us feel very valued. Thank you, Jenny and Ian. We look forward to returning.

Perfect for a Family

By Sara on 03-Sep-2023

We loved our stay at Oak Tree Cottage. We are a family of four with a two and five year old. The cottage was perfect for a family and had lots of extras that were ideal for a family- toddler utensils, plates and cups, a high chair, travel cot, a box of pre school toys which both my children enjoyed exploring and also all the plugs had child safety plugs in to prevent little fingers getting hurt. All of these things were small details but meant we felt so at home and the children were safe. Jenny was very responsive by text and replied when I had a question about where to find something. She left really clear instructions about check in and there was a lovely guest book/ information manual which had all the information needed. The WiFi was very quick which is unusual in such a remote and peaceful area (Jenny explained it had been recently upgraded to fibre optic). The garden was beautiful and perfect to play in and we loved being in the forest close to the ponies. Thank you Jenny!
