Description
We offer three self-catering holiday cottages situated within the grounds of our Georgian house close to Pickering, on the edge of the North York Moors. Each holiday cottage is set in its own garden, providing you with privacy to relax and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The Barn (P217882), The Coach House (P217883) and Hall Cottage (P275687) can also be booked together for parties up to 15 guests with added capacity for infants.The Barn is a luxurious and stylish self-catering barn conversion, with a professionally designed contemporary interior, whilst retaining the character of the original farm barn, with revealed stone walls and original barn roof trusses.
Please note that the maximum adult capacity is 5 adults. Additional capacity for up to 2 children plus infants.
The main features of the accommodation are:
* 2 separate living spaces comprising a family living/dining/kitchen space on the south side plus a separate living room on the north side;
* 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 5 adults and 2 children, including one double with dressing room, one large twin singles room (with option to convert to SuperKing) and one ground floor single bedroom with step free access, plus rollaway bed to convert into a twin bedroom suitable for 2 children or 1 adult & a child;
*Extra single bed on request for an additional child in the large twin bedroom.
* Main bathroom on ground floor with step free access
* Wet room shower room on ground floor
The north and south sides of the property are separate offering complete privacy from the other side, each having their own bathrooms.
There are two attractive private gardens with patio and outdoor eating area. Private parking for up to 2 cars with easy access to EV charger (at additional cost for usage).
We would like to keep The Barn and its furnishings to a high standard for the enjoyment of all our guests. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot have smoking and pets are not permitted.
South Side
The ground floor of the south side comprises a large family living space with dining area, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable sofa area, with flat screen TV. The large bi-fold patio doors open into the spacious garden and patio. Roof-lights let plenty of natural light into the main space. There are remotely controlled blinds to reduce heat gain in summer and to exclude the early morning sunshine for those in the twin bedroom. Also on the ground floor is a luxurious bathroom and next to it is a single bedroom (convertible into twin singles for 2 children or 1 adult plus a child), which has step free access.
Upstairs there is a twin mezzanine bedroom looking out across original barn beams, accessed by a separate walnut staircase. The twin beds will convert into a superking sized bed upon request.
North Side
Separated from the south side by a solid sliding door downstairs in the north side there is a snug, cosy sitting room, with an Ultra HD Smart TV. The wood burning stove makes for a relaxed atmosphere in which to unwind on a winters evening. There is a door to the back garden with a path leading the main gardens of Middleton Hall, including the croquet lawn. The blue wet-room with central power shower, WC and basin and the utility room complete this part of the Barn’s accommodation.
Upstairs via the elegant glass and walnut stairs there is a comfortable sleeping area with double bed on a mezzanine floor with a separate dressing area.
Outside
Parking (for up to two cars) is in the yard by the entrance to the Barn, with EV Charger available at additional cost. This cottage is next door to a working farm so you may be aware of the arable and beef farming cycles.

Beautiful barn in a peaceful setting
By Rachel on 31-Dec-2024Beautiful barn in a peaceful setting, yet within walking distance to all the amenities in Pickering. The barn itself was very clean & comfortable with a luxurious feel. The hosts had put up a real Christmas tree and decorations for our Christmas stay which was lovely! We loved the log burner! Beautiful walks directly from the barn. Lots of lovely places to visit locally too. Hosts were very friendly and responsive to all our queries. Would love to visit again!
Beautiful property

A unique house
By Fiona on 02-Nov-2024A unique house with lots of room that enabled easy access to all the Moors has to offer. Main bathroom, downstairs bedroom and kitchen lounge diner all fully wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps into the snug area, second shower room and utility. Appreciated having both a private garden but also access to the wider gardens beyond. David and Philip were great hosts who gave lots of recommendations on what to do in the area - including where to go pumpkin picking!
Lovely stay at the Barn

Exceptional Property
By Kevin on 12-Oct-2024A lovely break for my 94 yr old Mum. The Barn was an exceptional property and the ground floor bedroom and bathroom great for Mum. David's communication throughout was first class,even increasing the temperature in Mum's room remotely from Spain! Will look forward to returning. Kevin and Chris (and Mum)
