Description

On entering the front door of Duck’s Cottage you will find the hall/utility area with washing machine and tumble drier, a utility sink and coat rack. The downstairs shower room, which also has a WC and washbasin, opens off this room.

On the right is the entrance to the kitchen which is fitted with contemporary units and includes double oven cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and toaster. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary cutlery, crockery, cookware and utensils. Complimentary tea, coffee and sugar are supplied.

Both the kitchen and hall open into the lounge/dining area with table and chairs for six and large comfortable sofas and an armchair. There is a selection of books and DVDs on the bookshelf to suit most tastes and there is a variety of games, jigsaws etc. too. A smart TV will allow you to log onto your own accounts for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Britbox, etc. as well as watch Freeview. Wifi access is included in the cost of the rental and the password can be found in the Property Handbook.

The downstairs bedroom opens off the dining area, with a 4ft double bed, wardrobe with hanging and drawer space and a small dressing table.

For people with limited mobility the whole of the ground floor is on one level and whilst doors are standard width and the front door has a small step at the threshold the entrance to the shower is fairly low and easy to access.

Upstairs you will find a bedroom with a king sized bed, this has an ensuite shower room with WC and washbasin. The second bedroom has twin beds which can also be made up as a superking size bed and is adjacent to the family bathroom which has a bath with a shower over, a WC and washbasin.

Outside is a fully enclosed dog friendly garden with furniture and a BBQ. This is a nice spot to sit enjoying breakfast in the sunshine or a relaxing drink at the end of an exhausting day sight-seeing. There is also parking for three cars.

The building has been renovated to modern standards with good insulation and double glazing throughout. You will find that as a result the cottage is cosy and quiet. The whole of the downstairs has underfloor heating with radiators in the bathrooms and upstairs bedrooms. The heating and hot water is provided from a biomass boiler running on wood pellets housed in a nearby barn and thus is very eco-friendly. The costs of heating and electricity are included within the rental.

Bed linen and towels are included within the rental too, as are consumables such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil, washing powder and conditioner. We hope we have covered everything so that all you need to bring is your clothes and food. If you have any questions about facilities available at Duck’s Cottage please do not hesitate to contact us.

Duck’s Cottage has been designed to be just as welcoming to your canine friend as it is to you. Downstairs the floor is tiled throughout so muddy paw prints are easy to remove but we do request that you don’t let your furry friend on the furniture or upstairs.

There is a securely fenced garden and plenty of lovely walks straight from the door. We just ask that you pick up behind your dog, keep them under control and on a lead around livestock. Many of the local tourist attractions, pubs and cafes also welcome dogs so you need not worry about having to leave them behind.
