All Bathrooms and ensuite have heated lit mirror cabinets. A spacious large family bathroom upstairs. Downstairs via either of 2 staircases, you will find a large boot room with WC, a beautiful large generously appointed kitchen (we challenge you to run out of cups, bowls and cutlery!) with granite worktops, large range style electric Stove, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and farmhouse dining table. This kitchen is perfect for large feasts cooked for groups of family and friends, laughter filling the air mingled with aromas from the Stove. Free Super fast Wifi reaches all rooms, so tech lovers will not feel as if they are cut off – although you may choose to turn off in such lovely surroundings!
Large character sitting room with original stone and wood panel walls, slate floors, and 55” Smart Ultra HD TV with Sky and DVD Player. Here you will find OWL TV – a live camera link on the Smart TV to the Barn Owl box in next door Lily Cottage. A real treat, especially when chicks start hatching. New plump sofa’s, where you can sit draped in one of our fleecy throws mesmerised by the Woodburner left ready for guests to simply light with the strike of a match. Second sitting room with carved stone surround open fire (currently unable to be used), TV with built in DVD and Sky mini. So, that oh so important Football match need not be missed as Corrie can play on the other TV at the same time or sit at the antique desk and pen the classic postcard home. Traditional wooden shutters frame a lovely window seat with views across the countryside fields where cows or sheep can often be seen grazing.
We frequently hear people tell us that this is their home from home, and have not wanted for anything as all they could of needed has been provided for and more. Many original artworks, including paintings and popular prints by owner Siobhan that can be purchased. Games, DVD’s, large collection of books & comics provided. Repeat guests often find upgrades as each year we invest in making this lovely family home better and better.
To the front of the Farmhouse there is a small enclosed patio with bistro set. To the rear of the Farmhouse, next to a spring fed fountain is a separate teak dining table and 8 chairs with views over a duck pond. Visitors also enjoy access to all of the 2 acre mature gardens, particularly celebrated for its collection of over 200 varieties of Hydrangea, Rhododendron and Camellia. Exploring will reveal a small orchard with seating area, fruiting apple, pear and cherry trees. Guests can pick their own apples.
Your own gated driveway is more than long enough to park 6-8 cars.
Cardwen Farmhouse is a constant favourite that books a year in advance, with guests returning multiple times. We take true pride in ensuring your holiday home is spotless and clean, our reputation stands on it! Saturday changeover. We will call you on the day of check in if we are able to let you in sooner than normal time of 5pm. We appreciate you just want to get off the road, the car unpacked, then sit down with a cup of tea whilst tucking in to the complimentary Cream Tea provided as soon as possible.
Oil fired central heating, fuel (oil and 1st basket logs), power, bed linen, towels all included. Cot* & Highchair in the Farmhouse. 3 dogs are very welcome with well behaved owners who are happy to clear up dog hair before departure. Our own (very friendly) Cockerpoo, Archie, will be visiting looking for sausages and will jump up wanting to be petted by visitors who he seems to think are on holiday only to pet him constantly.
*Please note cot is a travel cot and is as supplied by manufacturer. It has a padded base, no separate mattress and no cot linen.
CAUTION: Open water, deep ponds and mud. Paths, patios and steps are uneven and slippery when wet. Free range chickens in grounds. Please do not leave children and animals unattended.
