Our second stay at Oaker Farm this year. We wanted a short break, before winter really sets in, and looked around for an area with a comparable range of interesting visits and lovely walks, but we couldn''t find anywhere that matched up to this. There really is an endless variety of places to visit within a short drive from here, and scenery and walks to die for. Also, Oaker Farm being at the very end of the lane, in truly beautiful scenery, is very special. We arrived at dusk, and were welcomed into our warm and cosy cottage. We immediately had a spot to eat and my husband lit the log burner (logs and coal available on site) and settled down for a cosy and relaxing evening. Less a ''holiday cottage'', more a real ''home from home''. Julie and Stephen are very good hosts. We will certainly return.
We stayed last week in one of the cottages at Oaker Farm. The cottage was very comfortable, cosy and clean. Everything was provided that you could think of. And more! The farm is situated at the end of the lane in stunning scenery. No need to get into your car to start walking in the hills, many can be taken from the doorstep. There are a large variety of interesting places to visit within 30-45 minutes drive. For instance, the amazing Chatsworth House, Cromford Mill (of Arkwright fame) and the Victorian Spa town of Buxton. To sum up, a very special place to stay in a superb area of natural beauty. We won''t hesitate to book again when in the area
