Description
If you are looking for a quintessentially French holiday then look no further! L’Herbe Pot is a charming stone, one-bedroom gite nestled among hazelnut groves, with far-reaching views of the stunning French countryside. A peaceful retreat, L’Herbe Pot is just 5 miles from the 13th century Bastide village of Monflanquin, considered to be one of the prettiest villages in France.
Other historical, picturesque Bastide towns of Villereal and Monpazier are also nearby, along with the Chateau De Biron, and the town of Monseprom Libos, which hosts the largest weekly market in the Lot-et-Garonne and Dordogne.
L’Herbe Pot is attached to La Tuilerie, (where your hosts Emma and Chris reside), however to ensure total privacy the gite has an exclusive entrance and drive and its own large private garden, with breath-taking rural views.
L’Herbe Pot has been recently renovated to a high specification, and incorporates an open-plan living room, kitchen and dining room with original features such as exposed stone walls, wooden beams and an ancient bread oven. The kitchen is well equipped: with an oven; integrated hob; integral fridge; Belfast sink and Nespresso coffee machine. There is a beautiful, spacious bedroom with king-size bed, a pretty window seat overlooking the front garden, and a bathroom with a large powerful shower.
The outside dining area is situated in the rose garden, a stone’s throw from the petit potager (feel free to help yourselves to tomatoes!) There are two comfortable sun-beds, with plenty of natural shade, and a gas BBQ. Spend your evenings chilling by the firepit, enjoying a bottle of local wine, whilst watching the sun set or simply stargazing. For the more energetic, there is Badmington and Boules.
Other attractions include weekly markets, summer night markets, Brocantes, Wine-tasting vineyards, cookery classes, Kayak trips on the Dordogne River, a range of good local restaurants, bars and boutiques.
L'Herbe Pot is 45 minutes from Bergerac Airport, and Toulouse and Bordeaux Airports are both a two hour drive away . The ports of Calais, Cherbourg and Roscoff are all about a nine hour drive.
Included is Fibre Wi-fi, all bedlinen and towels, sun-beds, hairdryer, gas BBQ, kettle, toaster and coffee machine, board games and books. A laundry room is available on request.
