The Granary

Beautiful accommodation in stunning setting Left on Mar 19, 2017 for a stay in Mar 2017 We stayed for 3 nights, a party of 4 adults and 2 young children. The accommodation was spotless on arrival, and is in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The owners are located next door, were very friendly and knew on hand if needed but not at all intrusive. Thank you for the delicious homemade cream cakes on arrival, much appreciated! The bedrooms and bathrooms were a great size and layout, each having its own en suite was a great bonus and so convenient! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely look to book again in the summer when we next visit family in the area.

6th visit and as lovely as ever Left on Nov 7, 2017 for a stay in Nov 2017 With both daughters going through University of Nottingham undergraduate courses, this has been our accommodation of choice over the last four years whenever we have travelled up from Cornwall to visit them. It's a dog friendly, home from home haven, situated in the stunning grounds of Newstead Abbey. Our daughters have always loved staying at the Granary as it provides a comfortable and cosy break for them during the rigours of the academic terms - as the youngest one said last weekend - 'It's a place to clear your head'. We arrived on the Thursday afternoon and the cottage was lovely and warm on a cold, November afternoon. We are usually greeeted with some of Carol's lovely cooking but, having let Steve know in advance that my husband and I are now gluten free, a very thoughtful bottle of red wine had been left for us instead. We had stocked up on food in a Sainsbury's in Nottingham so were able to cook most of our meals over the four day stay at the cottage - the kitchen, although quite small, is what I'd call a 'cook's kitchen' - very well equipped and everything working very well. On the Friday, we explored Ravenshead village and, not having done this before, were pleased to find some lovely local shops, including a very well stocked deli. Afterwards, we drove to Lincoln, about an hour away, and an intriguing city to explore. Our daughter and boyfriend joined us that evening and stayed for the rest of the weekend when we were able to make the most of the beautiful Autumn weather with a glorious walk down to the Abbey with the dogs - the colours in the Japanese Garden were incredible this year. On the Sunday it was roast dinner at the Fox and Hounds pub, dog friendly and always a good option, and only about fifteen minutes drive from the cottage. We were very sorry to have to leave at the end of our long weekend but I'm certain we will be back for a seventh stay in 2018! Thanks again Steve and Carol. Highly recommend. The Granary, Newstead Abbey Park

Amazing property and very relaxed atmosphere - couldn't have been better. Date of Stay 13 Jul 2017 The property is spacious and very homely. As it is in the Newstead Abbey estate it is in a truly stunning setting and you feel nicely away from the hussle and bustle of life - fantastic for a holiday. Stephen and Carole are very relaxed but are on hand if you need anything - couldn't have been more helpful. I fully intend to come back next year. Many thanks. My Response Thank you Ken, you and your family were great guests and left everything so tidy and clean. Hope to see you again next year for the test match. Kind regards, Steve and Carol Edit your Response

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful setting Date of Stay 16 Mar 2017 We stayed for 3 nights, a party of 4 adults and 2 young children. The granary is located in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The owners are next door which is helpful if needed, but completely unobtrusive. Homemade cream cakes on arrival were gratefully received thank you! Bedrooms and bathrooms were a great size and layout. House was spotless on arrival. We will definitely look to visit and stay again soon when we next visit family in the area. My Response Thank you for your review, so glad you enjoyed your time and we hope to see you again. We try hard to make our guests stay as enjoyable as we can, so always good to have positive feedback.
