Description

Oaktree cottage is a 200-year-old traditional brick & flint Norfolk cottage, sleeping 4 guests in 2 bedrooms (1 king-size, 1 twin).

Located on the edge of the village, overlooking fields, it is the ideal base for exploring the coast, countryside, towns and villages of Norfolk. The Norfolk Broads and Norwich are both within a 45 minute drive. Pensthorpe, Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, and Holkham Hall are all in easy reach, and a seal trip from Morston is recommended any time of year.

Briston has 2 good pubs, the nearest also serves great food. It also has some excellent shops, including independent bakers and butchers.

The cottage is a wonderful blend of old and new, featuring massive oak beams and wood-burning stove, yet has central heating throughout (inclusive in rates), a dishwasher, washer-dryer, and full-size freezer. All beds have high-quality mattresses to ensure a good night's sleep, and Egyptian cotton bedding and towels are included in the rates.

Downstairs:
-spacious lounge, TV, DVD, surround sound, stove, and a selection of books and games.
-kitchen diner with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, table & chairs. Quality cookware and crockery.
-separate utility room with washer dryer, downstairs toilet, and full-size freezer.

Upstairs:
-main bedroom with king-size bed
-second bedroom with twin beds
-bathroom with bath and thermostatic power shower over the bath.
-separate spacious upstairs w/c with basin makes Oak Tree Cottage a great choice for couples sharing.

The cottage also has a telephone, and Wi-Fi Internet access, so you can stay in touch whilst away.

Outside:
There is space on the drive to park two cars, a brick & flint shed for secure cycle storage, and a summer-house to make the most the small enclosed garden whatever the weather!

A lovely comfortable cottage

By Valerie G. on 01-Oct-2023

Everything you could possibly need was provided. The cottage provided us with a base to explore the North Norfolk coast. We had a great visit to Felbrigg Hall and Gardens, a trip oh the Holt to Sheringham steam railway and a trip to RSPB Titchwell Marsh. Blakeney was our favourite coastal town. We also visited Sheringham and Wells next the Sea. Holt just a few miles North of the cottage is also well worth a visit

Excellent homely cottage

The cottage is excellently furnished and equipped with great off road parking. Walking distance of local shops and very nice pub. Central for all north Norfolk attractions. Highly recommend.

The cottage is in a great location for exploring Norfolk. Such a peaceful area. Communication, directions and info from the owner was brilliant. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent holiday home for a family

By Paula A. on 20-Jul-2020

We had a great time at Oak Cottage. Everything was as described with the exception of the low ceilings, it didn’t bother me but my husband is 6’2” and he kept hitting his head on the ceiling. We thought the garden would be a bit bigger but plenty of outside space to sit out. The cottage had everything that we needed and during these times of Covid-19 we felt that the cleanliness and procedures our hosts used were more than satisfactory. This is a lovely cottage for a family holiday.
