Spacious apartment in a great location

By on 23-Aug-2019

We felt very comfortable in this apartment. It is ideally located close to the metro and the train station. Although it is situated directly opposite the Notre Dame church and a few paces from the main shopping street, Jean Medicin, it is not overly noisy during the day and quiet and peaceful at night. The rooms are large and the balcony is very welcome in the August heat. The lift takes no time at all to get up to the third floor. Everything you need is in the apartment including a TV (which we did not use as there is so much to see and do in Nice and the surrounding areas). To get to the apartment from the airport, I would recommend the tram which is only 1.5 Euros and takes just over 20 minutes. Le Socrate Lebanese restaurant just a few paces along Rue de Suisse is very good value and the food is lovely. Booking the apartment with Elaine was very easy and to have Julian meet us at the apartment immediately on arrival and showing us where everything was, was very much appreciated. I would recommend this apartment for a short break in Nice.

A perfect city break

By on 24-Jul-2019

The photo on the website of a room with French windows opening on to a little balcony overlooking Notre Dame church was what first attracted us to this apartment. Breakfast in the sunshine, evening glasses of wine beckoned us, and the reality did not disappoint. On the third floor, with a reliable lift, the apartment is spacious and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen corner. Perfect for people watching, high above the street. Nobody ever looks up! Located in a busy popular square, with many shops and restaurants nearby, it’s possible to walk to everything you need, even the beaches, in 15 minutes. If you wish to travel a bit further afield, or save your legs, the transport links are a boon- five minutes walk from the central station, accessing so many lovely towns and cities on the Côte d’Azur and the same distance from a tram stop taking you to and from the airport for €1.50 a ride, into the city centre and the old town, the beaches and the Port in a matter of minutes. There is a well used children’s play park across the road, but all was quiet in the evenings- even the Church bells stop ringing! Highly recommended for a city break.

Ideally located well maintained appartment

By on 26-Aug-2018

This was the second time we have stayed at this apartment which is ideally located in the New Town, a short walk to the beach and Old Town, The apartment is well maintained, clean and comfortable. My only complaint is it only had two fans which I felt was inadequate as the temperature through the night in August remains high..

Central apartment in Nice

By on 27-Jun-2018

Brilliant apartment right next to Cathedral Notre dam. Booking easy and straight forward with owner Elaine from start to finish as she responded quickly to any queries i had. The apartment was perfect and as described. It is centrally located, making it a perfect location for seeing Nice and afar. The main train Station Gare nice Ville, is a short 5-8minite walk from the apartment. And the main shopping street is also conveniently located within a 5-8minute walk away. There are several supermakets close by again within a 5 minute walk to buy groceries ( casino or Monoprox) 10/15minutes walks you from the apartment to the old town- either by walking along the beautiful promenade or through the park. The beach is next to the promenade, but I would recommend water shoes for the beach, especially if going into the sea as the large pebbles makes it difficult and uncomfortable under foot. Elaine provided a parasol and beach mats which we used as they were easily transported in our backpack to the beach. The apartment had everything you could need to make a meal. It is spotlessly clean and towels and linen were provided for our stay. Upon arrival Julian met us and walked us through everything we needed to know. The square which the apartment is situated on was noisy when we arrived around 18:00hours and initially I was a bit concerned. However I had no reason to be, it’s busy during the day as children plan at the park and people sit beneath the trees at the cathedral, but quiet and peaceful in the evenings. The bells do ring but not during the night and they don’t start particularly early, so nothing to worry about. The only thing we personally missed in the apartment was a full length mirror, a waste bin in the bathroom area and an additional fan as these are your air conditioner. we had two which we used in the bedroom. Again these we’re absolutly fine, but a third fan would have been good for living area. Elaine supplied an excellent pack to welcome you to the area of Nice. This included maps, info on public transport and restaurants etc. We used the train to travel to Monaco and Villefranche-sur-Mer. It is worth visiting the castle on the hill in nice. There is a free elevator up to the top so you don’t want to take the steps in the heat you can use the lift to go up and walk down. The old port of nice has a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants next to the harbour which has a more relaxed feel than the buzz of the old town. Such a vibrant city and so much to see and do. Suing our stay 19-26 June Iron Man contest was on and also a music festival was held in the main square- we were able to sit on a grass bank and watch this on the big screens. The city felt safe, and whilst we are aware of the need to keep our bags etc safe there was a big police presence. We dined twice in La Cucucina. see photographs. If you love great food ( we are both foodies) then this place is a gem! we dined here twice, but it’s recommended that you book. We had a fantastic trip and would return again to the apartment. Thanks Elaine!

Very nice apartment, clean, functional, outstanding view from balcony. The communication was 100% professional, and when we came (before time) we were introduced to the apartment by very sympathetic Julian. The neighbourhood has everything you need and in december 2018 trains are departing directly from the airport. If we go to Nice again, we stay here!!
