Description

NORTHERN LAKE DISTRICT
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - LAKES AND COAST

Situated in the quiet North Cumbrian village of Newton Arlosh, this recently converted barn provides great quality, comfortable, self-catering holiday accommodation for up to four guests. With its medieval church and traditional pub, the village is welcoming and is only a stone’s throw from the Lake District and the Solway Coast. The barn forms part of Church House Farm, once a 19th century working farm, but now providing a peaceful location to escape to. PLEASE NOTE WE DON'T TAKE PETS the owner is allergic.

Now with Superfast Wi-Fi Starlink installed.

The accommodation is laid out in reverse with a double bedroom and ensuite, a twin bedroom and family bathroom on the ground floor and a spacious open plan living area on the first floor. French doors in the lounge open on to a Juliet balcony from where there are views across the fields to the coast and on a clear day across to Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland.

The barn has been sympathetically converted to a luxury standards with plenty of insulation, full gas central heating and double glazing. Furnished throughout with modern furnishings it has a light and airy feel while retaining some of its original features and character.

The barn is set within the gardens of Church House Farm where you will find a private seating area with a picnic bench for use by guests. In the farmyard there is also a traditional well where water was once drawn for the farm. The owners have a 1 and half acre field, were you will find neighbour's sheep. The barn is also on the Cycle Path 72 Hadrian's Wall Cycle way, we have secured storage for bikes. We are also a 15 minute drive from Silloth Golf Club, which is a great course and we have storage for bikes.
. We are also only 15 minutes away from the coast and including the seaside towns of Silloth, Bowness on Solway ( Hardrian's Wall Walk) and Mawbray.

Beautifully quaint barn conversion with a modern twist in a lovely little village

By Darren Foster on 02-Apr-2024

Beautifully quaint barn conversion with a modern twist in a lovely little village, and only a stones throw away from grade 1 listed church steeped in history. Great hosts who provide everything you could possibly need in an extremely clean property. Unfortunately I was on bussiness and didn''t have time to explore the local and surrounding areas but i would highly recommend this place if you''re looking for a couple or few nights away exploring cumbria

Amazing location and accomodation! We have stayed here twice now and love it and so do our children! The barn is lovely and comfortable and has everything thing you need with great views! The host are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. There is a lovely walk around the village that has a pub and children''s play park and you are so close to many attractions whatever you are looking for, city, coast and countryside! A great place all round, thank you church house barn.

A lovely comfortable cottage that has everything you need for a relaxing break. The garden is lovely to sit out in or have a bbq. Close to the pub and many lovely nature reserves as well as the seaside town of Silloth. Already booked another stay as it was so good.

Beautiful cottage and very suitably located for us for a wedding nearby. Immaculately clean, fresh and modern inside, just as we had hoped for. Michelle was a great host, made us feel very welcome and comfortable in our surroundings. We wish we could have stayed longer!
