Overlooking the winding River Isle, by the church in the small village of Saint Médard, this elegant property is set in superb gardens, with mature trees. It enjoys a large swimming pool. At the edge of the gardens and terraces is the river itself, and there is private use of a discreet cove. Close by is the town of Mussidan which has weekly morning markets offering superb poultry, wines and fresh seafood. The famous vineyards of Saint Emilion are less than half an hour’s drive away – for stocking-up with the delicious regional wines! The old town of Bergerac offers trips on old flat boats on the river, summer music festivals and has a tobacco museum as well as many good restaurants. Bordeaux makes an excellent day trip and has an elegant 18th century centre where the narrow streets are lined with grand mansions. The city’s many attractions include the eye-catching cathedral, a 15th century bell tower and a beautiful formal park. The surrounding countryside produces Bordeaux wines, and is the largest quality wine district in the world.
