The famous vineyards of Saint Emilion are less than half an hour’s drive away – for stocking-up with the delicious regional wines! The old town of Bergerac offers trips on old flat boats on the river, summer music festivals and has a tobacco museum as well as many good restaurants. Bordeaux makes an excellent day trip and has an elegant 18th century centre where the narrow streets are lined with grand mansions. The city’s many attractions include the eye-catching cathedral, a 15th century bell tower and a beautiful formal park.
