Location and Activities

Nestled midway between Mullion Village and Polurrian beach, Cwary Vean is ideal for walkers and beach lovers. The cottage's convenient location makes it an excellent base for exploring the Peninsular’s diverse offerings, including villages, manor houses, exotic gardens, moors, woods, beaches, estuaries, and numerous castles, both intact and ruined.

Mullion, the largest village on the Lizard Peninsula, serves as an excellent stop to stock up on supplies before venturing into the area's renowned countryside and coastline.

Polurrian beach is a cove beach, offering breath-taking views. At low tide, the beach reveals golden sands flanked by high cliffs. It’s great for surfing with summer weekend lifeguards.

Additional Information

For the safety and comfort of all guests, Cwary Vean is a strictly no-smoking cottage and garden. Unfortunately, the cottage is not suitable for children under 8 years old. Pets are welcome at a fee of £25.00 each per week.

A perfect place to stay

By Judy and John on 28-Feb-2025

This was our third visit to this lovely cottage. We appreciate the clean and welcoming accommodation. The conservatory with a view down to the sea is a great place to sit and enjoy a lazy breakfast or two. There is a very good shower and the master bedroom is very comfy. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. The cottage is dog friendly and the utility area is great to dry wet doggy feet etc. The whole cottage is just an easy place to enjoy your holiday break. John does appreciate having the WiFi too I haven't even mentioned the location yet . The garden gate leads down to a path leading to a sandy cove only a few minutes walk away. There are lovely walks in both directions along the coast path, a fabulous beach cafe at Poldhu beach (open 363 days a year) and a great menu at two hotels both within easy walking distance. We don't use the car all week. The friendly owner Chris is there to help but only if you need him to. That's the long review. The short one is "We love it here - it suits the two of us and our two pups perfectly. Already looking forward to our return in 2026"

Owner response on 13-Mar-2025

Dear Judy and John, Thank you for making Cwary Vean your regular spring holiday venue and thank you too for taking the time to give us a review. ( I know revues aren't your usual thing). It is always a pleasure to have longtime guest friends return and particularly good to see you, John, Hatti and Penn all looking so well this year. See you all in 2026! Chris

Super stay in a great location

By Jayne and john on 05-Apr-2024

Even with stormy weather outside we had a warm and comfortable base to return to. Great location for easy walk to coast paths and a quiet spot to hear the many birds around us. The cottage was well suited for 🐶 with a covered space to clean sandy paws!

Owner response on 26-Apr-2024

Thank you so much for coming to stay and for taking the time to write us a review. It was great to see you all again-and I know tilly loved seeing the girls too. We hope to see you again -soon!

Beautiful Easter break

By Louise on 29-Mar-2024

This is our 3rd time at the cottage and it didn’t disappoint. Great location and equipped with everything you need - with a short walk to the beach. Beautiful lunch at the hotel on the cliff and then a roll home! Great stride to mullion cove for a cream tea. The weather was mixed and the log fire was put to great use and made the cottage really cosy. Final meal at the old inn and a short walk home to a cosy cottage. Will miss the peace and bird song in the morning. We will be back !

Thank you! It was a pleasure to see you all again, Tilly was particularly happy to see both the girls. and will do her best to be around for your next visit (better not leave it too long though!).

Spotless, comfortable , warm & homely with everything you need for the most convenient holiday. The new walk in shower was excellent . The Cottage is in just the most beautiful position just a 5 min walk to beach & SW Coastal path - heavenly. We will certainly be returning soon.

Owner response on 05-Feb-2024

Thank you so much for taking the time to make such a kind review. It was grand to welcome you both back to stay in the Cottage. I am pleased you like the new power shower. We used the lockdown time to make a number of improvements (much to the delight of the local tradesmen!). I hope you both stay fit and well, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.....I hope!

Fabulous place to stay

By Wendy Johnson on 20-Oct-2023

This was a very comfortable place to stay which was well equipped and with a very welcoming host. The house is set in a beautiful location a short walk from a beach. An enclosed garden so our dog was nice and safe. A walk over the cliffs went Poldhu beach which is a favorite of mine. Lovely weeks stay and we will definitely want to go back.
