Very pleasant house with swimming pool easy to get to visit the surrounding area facilities in the villa good .
The house is lovely, clean and nicely decorated with everything you could need. Very spacious with a lovely private garden. We used the pool every day and really enjoyed it. We went to Nimes, Uzés and rather than Pont du Gard, went to Collias and swam in the Gardon there, as we’ve found Pont du Gard to be quite busy on the past. We also went to the beach one day. However it was so lovely at the house, we did spend a lot of time there just relaxing.
A very enjoyable stay in a lovely villa with absolutely everything you could want to enjoy a peaceful family holiday. Comfy beds, heating for cooler nights, books, board games, local maps and a great kitchen. Food shops were easy to find and within 10mins of the Villa. We had meant to do lots of site seeing but found ourselves relaxing, reading and enjoying our time ‘at home’ instead. Also, a safe and secure garden for our dog with a fantastic vet not far away who helped us with the paperwork to get her back home. We thoroughly recommend the villa as a holiday destination and have already booked our stay for 2024.
Great place to stay for access to many beautiful tourist attractions, or to enjoy the quiet life. The villa provided all you needed but furniture a little tired and not so comfortable for a long stay. We did not have the opportunity to use pool out of season. Bedding too a bit tired. But saying that still a very enjoyable stay. You may need to travel a bit for restaurants. The best supermarket we found was luxurious compared to the U.K. with meat being excellant in quality.
Soleil du Gard was a brilliant villa to stay at! The location was perfect as it was situated not far from main roads to enable easy driving to the many local attractions and sites, as well as convenient supermarkets not far away. The situation of the villa in the peaceful village of Montignargues was perfect as it is not overlooked by any neighbouring properties and the high hedging ensures privacy for guests. There was generally not a sound to be heard whilst we were in the garden, other than the church bell which tolls the time twice on the hour and once on the half hour, a donkey, a couple of roosters quite far away calling to each other and the occasional car! All facilities and amenities within the villa were as described and there were plentiful items for cooking and eating. The sofas were comfortable, the dining table spacious for working, playing games and eating and the laundry room with washing machine and freezer was very useful. There were also spare garden recliner chairs and lilos which we appreciated. The pool was perfect as the temperatures were in the high 30s and we used it every day, multiple times! The pool maintenance man came to clean and service the pool twice during our stay, and the grass was also cut once. They were very friendly and worked around us. The beds were really comfortable and it was just like a home from home. The outside dining area was great from breakfast and lunch. We tried to eat dinner out there a few times but found that the mosquitos were a little prevalent by the evening so we tended to eat this meal indoors. The TV connected to CBeebies which was great for our son, with Freesat access too, although we didn't use it a lot. No issues with the WiFi at all. We were also grateful for the varied selection of books on the bookshelves in one of the bedrooms and the living room. There were also plenty of DVDs which we didn't use and toys which our son enjoyed! Stephanie was very helpful with suggestions when we had a tyre blow out, giving reliable advice based on her personal experience of local companies who could replace it. She also organised for a new coffee machine to be delivered the next day when the existing one stopped working. She was easy to contact and quick to respond. There was also lots of local information in the villa, with guidebooks and newspaper articles about the surrounding area. There is a bread vending machine in the village although no shops, but supermarkets are very close by and so we did a lot of visits to the Intermarche. There is also a little lending library in the centre of the village by the church. We hoped the church might be open to look around inside, but we seemed to miss the opening hours. We would not hesitate to recommend Stephanie's villa to anyone looking for a quiet stay with a pool and great amenities. We enjoyed our stay so much that we rebooked before leaving for home and are already planning which local attractions to visit next year! Thank you very much Stephanie for a brilliant holiday!
We had a great stay at this property - despite unusually hot weather. The air conditioning was a significant bonus and meant we all felt well rested. Beautiful pool and great village location - only downside was having to get in the car whenever we wanted any groceries etc but we knew this would be the case so no real issue.
