A little slice of paradise ! Martin is a great host, very friendly, helpful and also discreet. The apartment is charming, very clean and well-equipped. Only a few minutes from the airport, in a quiet and secluded vineyard but only 5 minutes drive to all amenities. We had a fantastic weekend and will definately be going back.
5/5 Stayed Apr 2022 Lovely property full of character and charm. tastefully decorated and with everything you need. The tranquil setting is beautiful, just outside of Monbazillac and a few minutes from Bergerac and Issegiac. Martin is a fantastic host and we look forward to staying with him again. Martin if you wondered what we were doing on our last morning, we saw two hoopoe and were trying to get a decent photo! Thank you for everything, we had a super time.
5/5 Stayed Jul 2020 We had a fantastic week at Les Croux. Thank you to Martin for providing such idyllic setting.
5/5 Stayed Sep 2019 From start to finish everything went to plan , we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday would love to do it all again!
5/5 Stayed Sep 2019 From the moment we entered the property up a long gravel driveway, we were hooked. The main house and our attached gite sit on a hilltop on a bright grassy meadow surrounded by miles of vineyards, so there are no noisy neighbors or traffic noise anywhere nearby. A hiking trail around the area passes by the gite about fifty yards away, and by following the yellow blaizes you can do an hour loop around the village on foot that takes you up to the Chateau de Monbazillac and the wine tasting center on the grounds. Both are worth visiting for history and for delicious wine at not cost (try the 2011 Chateau Montbazillac -- so sweet and delicious it tastes like sherry). You can buy anything you taste there in the shop, of course. Our host Martin couldn''t have been more welcoming and accommodating, and it was fun to hear his descriptions of the area. He provides his guests with a comprehensive guidebook in English and French that contains valuable information about everything from good local restaurants to using the Internet routers on the property. The week we spent here was the best of our three weeks in France -- relaxing, great weather, and lots of exploring the wine country.
5/5 Stayed May 2019 As many other reviews stated prior to our visit Martin and his family are attentive hosts while giving the privacy required to enjoy your stay. We arrived late evening and were welcomed by Martin who gave us a introduction to the gite and the area. The gite was lovely and clean with everything you’d need for a stay. The surrounding area is lovely for a walk and a visit to the chateau with the main town of Bergerac a 5 min drive away . We’d definitely stay again !
