Pleasant Hill occupies an ultra-private, elevated position with far reaching panoramic views towards hills and countryside beyond Milngavie. Milngavie is not only a lovely, pedestrianised village but also embarkation point for the famous West Highland Way. It has been ranked as Scotland's most beautiful mainland town centre and one of Glasgow's most sought-after semi-urban/semi-rural areas. The town itself has a wide variety of shops, restaurants, deli's and bars along with essential businesses. Within easy reach of Pleasant Hill guests can play golf at Dougalston, Milngavie, Clober, Hilton Park, Douglas Park all within a few miles of the villa. Nearby Mugdock Country Park and Milngavie Reservoir are also popular destinations with tourists and walkers. The reservoir - opened by Queen Victoria in 1859 and main water supply for the whole of Glasgow - offers endless choices of things to see and do. Pleasant Hill also provides easy access to major sports arenas plus museums and cultural venues (eg. By Harry on 08-Apr-2025The boys (a group of 16) all had an incredible time and that was a lot to do with how great the accommodation is and how fantastic the hosts are. The hosts are available to answer any questions, provide suggestions and they made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable. The accommodation is in a fantastic location and I would definitely recommend.
Perfect Stay For Large Group
By Lee on 30-Mar-2025Perfect stay for a large group wishing to have both a taste of rural Scotland and the bright lights of the city! Great house for large groups with more than adequate cooking facilities. Excellent hot tub that was kept meticulously clean. The hosts were amazing and so helpful with helping me organise a stag weekend. Sharing local knowledge and recommendations of activities and hostelries, etc. Milngavie is a perfect location to explore both Glasgow city (20 minute train ride) and hit the start of the West Highland Way! Milngavie was a nice little town itself with an active high street and a good Tesco and station just a 3 minute walk from Pleasant Hill. We really enjoyed Fullbacks sports bar as well - good value food and an atmosphere. Activities we enjoyed from Pleasant Hill were a walk to Glengoyne Distillery, afternoon and night out in West End Glasgow and a speed boat pub tour of Loch Lomond!
Excellent Base for Hen Weekend
By Sarah on 22-Mar-2025We booked this accomodation for my sister's hen do and it was an excellent base for us. We arrived on Friday and left on Sunday and the accomodation was perfectly provided with necessities such as towels, kitchen utensils, plenty of glassware etc. We were a group of 14 and there was plenty of dishes and glasses for us. The living space on the kitchen/Livingroom is great for large group. There is loads of seating options, and space to congregate. There are also plenty of bedrooms to accommodate large groups. The hot tub was a lovely addition to the weekend for us and looked over some beautiful views and was great fun on the Friday night, and lovely to relax in and nurse a sore head on Saturday morning! The location was perfect and there was a supermarket close by. We had some plans in Glasgow and planned to use the train station which is located very close by. Less than a 5 minute walk and all down hill too! The real diamond part was the hosts. Chris and Frances were truly lovely. They arrived to let in the first two people in our party, and came back to speak to the lead guest when we arrived and kindly took some group photos for us too. There was a small problem with the fire alarms beeping but we called Chris who arrived almost instantly and replaced all of the alarms and we had no further issues. Job done in 5 minutes! We had a great stay and felt really comfortable that we could call the hosts at any given time if required. Thank you so much for an excellent stay! If you are considering booking this accomodation then please do, you won't be disappointed!
Perfect Location for Hen Party
By Sarah-Jane on 24-Nov-2024The most perfect location for a hen party! Chris was the most amazing host with all his information to ensure the stay was as perfect as it could have been! Chris was always on hand if anything was required and always ready to answer questions along with giving recommendations! Location was perfect in a very quiet neighbourhood with a 5 minute walk to the train station to get straight into the centre of Glasgow in no time! Would highly recommend staying here to anyone!
Villa Perfect for Stag Group - Big Open Plan Area for Entertaining

The accommodation was perfect for a group, big open plan lounge and kitchen area for socialising with patio doors leading into a big garden. 3 minute walk from Milngavie town centre and train station. We had 2 great trips to Fullback bar which offered 20% on food for Pleasant Hill guests! Easy to get a train directly into Glasgow from Milngavie station. Chris the host was brilliant in terms of providing recommendations and explaining where to find local amenities. Really good stay and would come back again!
Perfect Venue For Hen Weekend

The host even made a batch of chocolate brownies for us! Which were fantastic. Super jacuzzi to relax in & everything was clean & fresh. The hosts were very helpful and engaging. Would highly recommend for group gatherings & family events.
