Our return visit five years later. Its still a fantastic Gite..Well equipped and location superb..A warm welcome from Maria & Tony & lovely Daisy too. We had brilliant weather & took full advantage of the Garden to relax in. Thoroughly recommend for couples,Families young and old. A home from home to relax in
What a find the accommodation was first rate couldn’t wish for more. It is a beautiful setting with many places to visit. This was enhanced by the information books provided by Maria and Tony with up to date data for where to visit all well indexed. The welcome basket was gratefully received especially the freshly laid eggs. Maria and Tony are the perfect hosts and Maria had arranged all our pre departure Covid tests and Tony printed off our passenger locator forms. Would definitely recommend.
The owners, Tony and Maria, are fully on top of the extra considerations to be taken due to COVID, their quiet but efficient management proved excellent. The barn was delightful- spacious, well equipped, airy, lovely private garden. We made great use of the bikes available visiting local cafes, restaurants, towns, historical sites, or simply following the tow path with picnics. We had several days when we didn’t go anywhere by car. The clear and appropriate information provided saved us so much planning and researching time for beach trips, chateaux, routes, eateries, shopping etc. My highlights would include fresh croissants and pastries from the village boulangerie 10 minutes return cycle ride, menhirs at St Just, Renrouet chateau, towpath cycling to Redon, the tranquil and remote ambience of the Barn.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time staying at Wisteria Barn. The gite was immaculate, exceptionally well-equipped and very spacious. Its location in a small hamlet was incredibly peaceful, and it was a delight to watch the stars at night from our private garden. Tony and Maria couldn't have been friendlier or kinder. They showed our excited children their goats and chickens, which was very special, and even helped us sort out a problem with our car. They provided all the information about the local area we could have hoped for, including country walks, bike rides, villages and other attractions, which meant we could very easily make the most of our holiday. The free access to bikes, as well as children's seats and trailers, was simply brilliant. We used them everyday day, cycling to the local boulangerie and down the nearby river. There was no shortage of things to do nearby too. Highly recommended.
Wisteria barn was perfect for us had everything we needed and more. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We had many days out to pretty villages and Chateau s Sea and beaches not to far away. Maria and Tony were wonderful hosts always there to help and advise on where to go. I would certainly recommend South Brittany cottages to my friends and family.
A friend who had stayed at La Cour last year recommended it to us as a great base for our family. In fact, we were so pleased to have found it and it looked so lovely the rest of the family came too! We stayed in both barns, Wisteria and Woodland View and we loved every minute. I can understand now why it was so highly recommended. The converted barns were wonderful, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and every last detail has been thought of. They were both very child friendly (important when you have toddlers in tow!) and the free WiFi was very welcomed by the older kids. The big private gardens were great for the children to play games and us grown ups to sit and relax, we had lots of enjoyable BBQ’s. The amazingly helpful information guides were used to plan ourselves a fun filled week, it was definitely not long enough so we are now discussing dates to come in 2018. We all loved our trips out on the bicycles (there are so many to choose from!) the little ones were so excited to ride in the child trailers, the lanes are so quiet and the towpath along the river was great, we absolutely loved the playground and the great little café bar alongside the river. Now we have found La Cour I thought we had better share this marvellous gem (sorry it has taken so long to do it!) with those looking for a relaxing, family friendly holiday in a great area with plenty to do. Thanks again, looking forward to our holiday next year already!
