Woodland View Barn gave us all the perfect accommodation and base to explore the lovely Southern Brittany area Maria and Tony call home, on bikes, paddling along the local waterways and the short drives to visiting St Nazaire, Nantes, Vannes and of course the great beaches of southern Brittany. We were amazed at the motor museum at Loheac. Not just old cars but such an historical transport journey through time. Definitely a must visit for all ages and interest. I think I’ll stop now or I’ll be recounting every great day we enjoyed. To sum up, excellent and comprehensive accommodation for 6 adults and 4 children (2xbunkbeds). Owners are some of the best we’ve ever experienced, always on hand to provide advice and assistance. Maria’s 4 information folders in each property certainly put other similar businesses to shame and available on their website. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a private, large family type property.
Just had a blissful two weeks at La Cour in the Woodland View barn. It’s a lovely part of the world and Maria and Tony go to every length to ensure you have a lovely holiday. Super well organised with folders of local things to see and do with clear maps, guides and suggestions. The bikes are a major bonus because just down the country lanes is a beautiful river with a wide towpath to cycle along. Wildlife galore. Beaches are only a quick hour away on excellent roads but there is more than enough near the gite. The big swimming lakes nearby are also a treat. The gite is clean spacious and quiet. The garden is huge and well screened by abundant greenery and trees. We loved sitting out on the balcony at night looking up at the stars. Was a real wrench leaving here to return to Blighty. Can’t recommend highly enough. You are guaranteed a superb holiday.
Quite simply gorgeous, clean and well equipped accommodation in a beautiful area of countryside. The hosts are so welcoming, helpful and really lovely. The selection and number of pushbikes is fantastic and are free to borrow. We had some lovely rides and picnics along the nearby, scenic canal, thanks to the maps and routes that the hosts suggest in the welcome packs. A fantastic place for a relaxing family holiday with plenty to do within 30 min car journeys. Small bakery within 10 minute stroll and a small local bar a little further through Massérac. We're looking forward to going back this summer for some more of the same.
The most well organised, well equipped and cleanest holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in! The layout of Woodland View Barn is cleverly planned, with the bedrooms on the ground floor staying cool even on the hottest days. The hosts were very welcoming and provided comprehensive information about the local area. Highly recommended.
A friend who had stayed at La Cour last year recommended it to us as a great base for our family. In fact, we were so pleased to have found it and it looked so lovely the rest of the family came too! We stayed in both barns, Wisteria and Woodland View and we loved every minute. I can understand now why it was so highly recommended. The converted barns were wonderful, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and every last detail has been thought of. They were both very child friendly (important when you have toddlers in tow!) and the free WiFi was very welcomed by the older kids. The big private gardens were great for the children to play games and us grown ups to sit and relax, we had lots of enjoyable BBQ’s. The amazingly helpful information guides were used to plan ourselves a fun filled week, it was definitely not long enough so we are now discussing dates to come in 2018. We all loved our trips out on the bicycles (there are so many to choose from!) the little ones were so excited to ride in the child trailers, the lanes are so quiet and the towpath along the river was great, we absolutely loved the playground and the great little café bar alongside the river. Now we have found La Cour I thought we had better share this marvellous gem (sorry it has taken so long to do it!) with those looking for a relaxing, family friendly holiday in a great area with plenty to do. Thanks again, looking forward to our holiday next year already!
