Lovely comfortable home in a lovely part of France

By Kenneth Mackenzie on 31-Jul-2024

Seamless and most enjoyable communications with the owner from our original inquiry regarding availability through the conclusion set the tone for our stay. The information package was the most complete and accurate AND helpful that we have seen in all our travels. Justine's house is truly a home and exceeded all our expectations. All basic supplies were provided and we made use of the lovely grounds and surrounding countryside. We were 4 adults and enjoyed all the mod coms that this truly comfortable home provided. We recommend Justine's home unreservedly.

D Day 80th Anniversary

Well….where does one start to describe perfection?! From the time of booking, throughout the stay and after our departure it can only be described as first class! The property itself is simply stunning and the way it’s presented is a credit to the owners. We will definitely be booking again.

Family holiday

By Susannah on 06-Apr-2024

We had such a wonderful time at Normandie Nest. The location is perfect - very easy to access a wide range of D Day sites and museums, as well as Bayeux, and an easy drive to Carentan train station, allowing us to take the train to Paris for a day trip. The cottage itself is very comfortable - a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious yet cosy sitting and dining room, very pleasant bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms! A fabulous selection of books to browse and lovely garden (with swings) meant that it was also brilliant just to spend the day “at home”. We would really love to come back another time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Normandie Nest to friends and family. Thank you so much, Justine!

Lovely Property

The house had everything we expected and more! The location was fabulous allowing us to easily explore the whole of Normandy. The information pack supplied by the owner Justine more than met our needs. Justine went above and beyond answering our queries without delay and in a very friendly way - thank you Justine.

Gorgeous house

By Kath on 30-Jul-2023

I came across the Normandie Nest while looking for a holiday house that would be different than a bland magnolia IKEA airbnb that could be anywhere, and it was perfect. The whole house is beautiful and full of history and art, a lovely place to spend time as well as use as a base for exploration. We really appreciated the well appointed kitchen - it might be the first time we've genuinely cooked on holiday as we would at home. We loved making big feasts for us - with young kids we actually didn't eat out the entire fortnight but it didn't feel like we were missing out because there was so much local produce to cook with.

Absolutely great stay would highly recommend

This was our first experience staying in France and it was great from the get go! Justine was lovely and was so informative in her emails and could not do enough nor could her close neighbours Debbie and Bob and their lovely dogs. The house was gorgeous on its own plot and so private; we loved the old trees out the front with the swings great for big people that never grew up! There was so much room in the house with a large sitting room and a big kitchen area; a downstairs loo and utility room; washing line outside so pack light; great large bedrooms upstairs; we were in the big bedroom with a shower and loo; there was also another separate big bathroom for upstairs with the other bedrooms. We loved our time here; we sat outside and chilled with a lovely vino or two with the warm weather; our dogs absolutely loved it; we took them for a walk early in the morning and evening and the roads were very quiet around the house; the neighbours had a goose that was the "guard dog" for the 3 sheep in the field; absolutely class to see; this goose would honk at us in the morning going past and coming home. The beaches were only a short trip in the car; gorgeous; lovely village nearby you could walk too and big supermarkets and boulangeries not too far in the car as one cannot have a coffee without an eclair or two!! We would thoroughly recommend this house; so much to do in the area, cycling, walking, beaches, so much nature; lots of eateries; lovely people...It was a great first impression to a holiday in Normadie France; we will be back to this lovely bolthole and look forward to same; you will not be disappointed staying here; the only thing is saying goodbye.....
