Description

Myrtle is a beautiful, warm and comfortable thatched cottage dating back more than 250 years. The semi detached cottage has beamed ceilings and cob walls. There is ample parking for cars, with an EV charger available, and a boat if needed with secure storage for bikes or kayaks. The cottage has its own delightful private garden with barbecue area and pagoda,. It is furnished with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture whilst retaining its period charm. It boasts uninterrupted countryside views from the rear with magical sunrises.

Set in an officially designated area of outstanding natural beauty there are many beautiful walks accessible from the cottage through National Trust woodland and along the south west coastal path. There are coves, beaches and waterside pubs where each season brings its own gems. The best spring flowers are in May, mackerel in early summer, shrimping in August, wild mushrooms and shellfish for the picking in the autumn and the wild sea in winter. The local foot ferry from Helford gives access to the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan. There are plenty of opportunities to take to the water. Both St Anthony and Helford have sailing, kayaking and fishing boats for hire. A short drive takes you to some fabulous beaches at Kennack, Coverack, Gunwalloe and Poldhu. The reknowned ice cream farms of Gwella and Roskilli's are both on nearby, and probably the best organic pasties and local vegetables can be found at Gear Farm.

10/10 Excellent 1 Oct 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy The cottage was just right for us and the garden a bonus - we were lucky with the weather. Wonderful hosts who were interesting to talk to and easily contactable if needed. We were delighted to find lots of free range eggs and tomatoes left for us when we arrived plus a delicious cake. We enjoyed meeting the happy looking hens and seeing where the produce was grown. We had a super stay... Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2022
