Description

For rent, “Les Alouettes” is a beautiful single story stone villa in Malaucène, Vaucluse, Provence. Although originally built as a Berger (a shepherd’s home) it has been totally restored to become the charming and comfortable home, in the spirit of Provence, that it is today. It has a professionally maintained large private garden and an alarmed free-form swimming pool.

The house is located a few hundred meters from the centre of the town with its shops, boulangeries and a dozen restaurants. It is also beside the town park which has a lake, a good work-out course and municipal tennis courts, all with the beautiful background of the mountains at the foot of Mont Ventoux. The property has a side entrance to the municipal car park leading up to the town, with all its facilities, by foot 200 meters.

The owner now lives independently at the far end of the large villa. The terrace has a trellis, one side offers a larger area for guests, the other side a smaller area for the owner. She will not be sharing your terrace nor the swimming pool. She (or her representative) will welcome you and give you an introduction to the property. After, if you need her, you will be able to either send her an e-mail, or phone her or send her an SMS message; otherwise you will see her or her representative on departure

This little town, at the foot of the “Giant of Provence”, is famous for being including on the Tour de France and is surrounded by the best Southern Rhone vineyards. It has restaurants, bars, electric car recharger base, high class Spa - (Pilates, yoga and other classes), weekly market (Wednesdays), 12th Century church offering classical concerts during July and August (after the weekly market), pharmacy, doctors, dentists, physiotherapist, nurses, beautician, hairdressers, post office, photographer, supermarket, garage, hotels, newsagent, bakeries, patisseries, tennis courts, and all are easily within walking distance (50-100 meters to the start of the shops and restaurants, 700 meters from the villa to the church at the top of the town). Other - horse riding, walking/hiking, paragliding.

Pure relaxation and enjoyment in the heart of Provence

By By the Tack family from Germany Trier Region on 03-Oct-2025

The fully equipped holiday home, which has been renovated with a lot of heart and soul, impresses with its perfect location for hikes and bike tours around Mont Ventoux, as well as in the neighbouring wine regions on the Rhone. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and received a lot of information about the area. The house and the large garden with a beautiful pool invite you to linger undisturbed. The town centre with many restaurants, shops and a weekly market can be reached on foot in a few minutes. We can warmly recommend Villa les Alouettes.

Les Alouettes has become our favorite place in France!

Les Alouettes has become our favorite place in France! You are a most thoughtful land generous host. Every moment of our stay here has been delightful. The location is ideal, an easy short walk to town, with its shops and many fine restaurants. An added plus are all the wineries close by, and we certainly enjoyed the wonderful Rhone wines. We can't wait to come back, hopefully l'annee prochaine. Keep well. We will think of you often. Best wishes for all good things.

I didn't want to write this review before I made sure that I could rent it the following year. Too afraid that someone would book before we had a chance. This says it all. Amazing place, fantastic host, great surroundings. If there were a possibility to give 11/10 I would. the family loved it and we all agreed we couldn't possibly think of going elsewhere :-) Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Maria, for making us feel at home.

Thank you very much for a great holiday. We liked everything!! ! ! We felt care for the guests, you took care of every little thing to make our stay very pleasant! Special thanks for the work you put into creating a detailed instruction log. He was very helpful, especially in terms of information about the city and its surroundings. The villa is very beautiful, authentic, comfortable and clean, many small details have been thought through. The pool is great! Thanks to you, we immersed ourselves in the fascinating atmosphere of Provence. Thank you again for a wonderful stay, welcome and relaxation!!
