A wonderful Christmas stay in a fantastic house and great hosts

Our Christmas stay at Maidensea House was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The location of Maidensea House is exceptional, offering the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. Nestled in a picturesque setting, the house boasts fabulous views that added to the festive ambiance. The nearby pub was a delightful spot with fabulous food. During the day, we explored the surrounding area through great walks, which revealed the stunning natural beauty of Torquay. The house itself was beautifully, creating a cheerful and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring a restful stay. Overall, our Christmas at Maidensea House was a memorable experience. The combination of great hosts, a fabulous location, and the charming nearby pub made for a stay that exceeded all our expectations. We left with wonderful memories. I can’t rave enough about Maidensea House; it’s a stunning location; the house, gardens and pool are beautiful. We went with four generations from a baby to great grandparents and we were all catered for. Amazingly amenities. Highly recommend!!!

What a very special place.

What a very special place. An amazing house in an amazing location - ideal for a large family group of a group of friends. The house is huge, stylish and immaculate and very very comfortable. The garden - looking down the valley to the sea - is beautifully maintained and landscaped. Lovely pool, TV room and games room. Our group of 9 friends all loved it. 5 minutes down the road - great pub with good food (Thatched Tavern) and Cafe Rio right on the beach. On top of that - easy to get to - we came from London and most of us got the train to Newton Abbot (15 minutes away) and got a taxi to the house. Anthony was there to meet us and show us around and was quick to respond to queries during our stay. We''re already planning ahead for when we can next come and stay.

Wow !

Maidensea is a perfect house! I cannot fault the house or our hosts for anything at all. Sandra and Ant were a pleasure to deal with and really responsive. I wholeheartedly recommend Maidensea for your holiday / getaway. I hired the house for a group of 16 adults for my 40th birthday. Sandra helped me to find a caterer and made some great suggestions for activities for the weekend. I organised a murder mystery evening with a chef and we had a fantastic evening on the Saturday night. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was all excellent quality, two large fridges additional bottle fridges and two dishwashers made keeping the kitchen tidy really easy. The welcome gift was very much enjoyed by us all too. All of the bedrooms are en-suite with an individually designed bathroom for each room, which is a lovely touch. The beds and sheets were “like sleeping in a cloud” according to one of my friends. The complimentary cosmetics were excellent quality and smelled beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing and such a treat to wake up and see the sea from our bed. The indoor pool is fantastic, it’s a lovely temperature and if it is nice weather you could open the sliding doors and it would feel as if it were an outdoor pool. All of my guests were really impressed with the house and all the facilities, nothing was broken the house was immaculate. We would absolutely go back again!

Paradise in Devon

By Lynne S. on 03-May-2022

We rented this fabulous holiday home to accommodate our extended family of 7 adults and 4 Granddaughters for our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The accommodation is exceptional with modern facilities and styling including state of the art kitchen and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms were immaculately clean and exceptionally comfortable. The indoor swimming pool and games room are superb and very popular with the whole family ( aged 11-76). The local beach and period Tavern are excellent diversions. Many thanks to our hosts, Anthony and Sandra, for an outstanding and memorable visit to this exceptional house and garden including a Devon cream tea waiting on arrival.

Maidensea House

By Roshan on 10-Apr-2022

Our stay at Sandra and Anthony''s place in Devon was nothing short of amazing. The house is finished to an extremely high standard and is beautifully presented and proportioned- a lot of thought has gone into the design and there is so much to do. Sandra was kind enough to receive our supermarket delivery as we were delayed and her decency and attention to Detail was evident when we arrived to find our fridge and freezer items packed away. Decent people Wonderful venue Beautiful location Would recommend to everyone !
