Description

Welcome to The Old Rectory at St Keyne In South Cornwall.

Our cottage, The Coach House is a single storey detached old stone building around 270 years old and belongs to and is set in the grounds of the Old Rectory of St. Keyne which dates back to around 1750. It is located in a quiet and tranquil location away from the main road, away from any neighbours (apart from us!) with stunning views over the valley. Please note, the pin location on the map is not accurate. We are approx 5 miles north of Looe and around 8 minutes by car or bus. It is displayed here as otherwise it doesn't appear in any search results on the site!

The Coach House was originally built to house the horse(s) and carriage for the Vicar of our local church and was converted into accommodation in 1995. In 2011 we went about giving the cottage a needed second transformation and took the opportunity to upgrade the property to include a new luxury kitchen, wet room, flooring and total redecoration throughout. The accommodation comprises of a lounge area, kitchen/diner, luxury wet room with a luxury rain shower and a light and airy double bedroom.

Detached, and situated far enough away from any other buildings, the Coach House offers peace and tranquillity. A private patio can be used to enjoy the lovely views across the valley and makes it the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine.

The Coach House has dedicated parking, however, there is ample parking in the grounds of the Rectory which our guests are very welcome to make use of.

Along with the luxury kitchen and wet room, the cottage has Wi-Fi with high speed Fibre Broadband (around 25mb), an internet high definition TV with catch up TV a blu ray player, radio, CD player with ipod docking station.
The kitchen has new luxury appliances including an electric fan oven, gas hob, small fridge with freezer compartment, dish washer as well as a DeLonghi Nespresso coffee machine.

For every stay you will be greeted with a customised generous welcome pack to help out with the first day or so which typical includes:
Quality bottle of wine, local beer, local butter/spread, local milk, bread, local soft drinks/cider, biscuits, nibbles, eggs, jams and honey.
Tea, n espresso capsules, coffee, sugar, salt are all included for your stay.

Inside you'll find everything you should need for your stay in Cornwall.
We include a generous luxury welcome pack with wine, local beer, eggs, bread, milk, local butter, biscuits, nibbles & jams to name a few.

Lounge
Spacious leather corner sofa with tables to place your drinks and books etc.
Samsung 40' Internet TV. DAB Radio, Bluray/DVD player, Ipod Docking station, CD player.
WiFi connected to 25mb fibre broadband. Information, maps, books and guides of the local area.

Kitchen
Luxury solid oak cabinets and oak drawers from Burbidge topped off with granite worktops and a blanco undermount stone sink and brushed stainless steel tap.
AEG appliances throughout, Electric Oven, Gas Hob, extractor fan, fully integrated undercounter fridge with small freezer compartment and fully integrated dishwasher. Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave. Good range of pans, oven trays, cutlery & utensils.

Wetroom
In the recently equipped wet-room you'll find a new shower area with a powerful waterfall type shower head on mains pressure. Deep Fluffy Towels on the Towel Rail and shelf.
New sanitary-ware. Sink with shelf and illuminated mirror over and large WC with soft close lid.
The wetroom does have a window so has plenty of light.

Bedroom

Small oak wardrobe, oak chest of drawers with mirror & 2 bedside tables. Window and large French doors. Hair-dryer.

PLEASE NOTE:

We also have a strict over 35's only policy.

Outside
Large patio with hardwood table and chairs overlooking the fields and valley.
BBQ and parasol are available if required on request.
You can wander around the orchard, have lunch there, wander up the lane and into the paddock before crossing the fields if you wish.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Chris and Jags at their holiday cottage. Beautiful views. The cottage has an open plan living room and kitchen. This has all you need for self catering with high quality assessories. The bedroom has ample storage space and a very comfy bed. The bathroom also equipped with the same high standard. We received a lovely welcome pack with a choice of items we could choose before our arrival. Both Chris and Jags provided an excellent service and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Hi both, thank you enormously for your kind words and so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure hosting you at our cottage. Thank you for being so patient and understanding with our ongoing issue which I'm pleased to say is all now rectified. Hope to see you again some time in the future. Regards, Chris & Jags

Outstanding

By Ann & Malc on 23-Jun-2023

We had a great week in this lovely cottage in such beautiful grounds. The views were absolutely outstanding. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well maintained and there was everything we needed, just like home from home. The owners Chris and Jags really looked after us from the generous welcome pack to giving advice on places to visit and parking etc. After they had greeted us they left us to get on with our holiday but said they were there if we needed anything at all. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The cottage is ideally located for visiting other parts of Cornwall and is also surrounded by lovely countryside ideal for walks. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to family and friends. The only downside was we wished we could have stayed longer.
