Description

The Old Rectory is a fantastic collection of self-catering apartments in one of the most beautiful parts of Cornwall.
The historic Mansion House setting is surrounded by beautiful private gardens on the edge of Lanreath and 100 metres from the village shop. The apartments sleep between two to five guests. Depending on availability, they can be booked together to accommodate larger parties and are ideal for everyone from couples escaping for a romantic break, to families and extended groups of family and friends celebrating a special occasion.

The swimming pool is available from end of May until end of August and the games room all year round.
Lanreath is a friendly community with the village shop and post office set close to the village green.
The village is only two miles from Pelynt and the popular Jubilee Inn, which serves lovely food. Our own pub is undergoing refurbishment currently but there is the delightful and friendly Tipsy Cow within walking distance for an evening drink with a view. We are just six miles from the fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, with a choice of safe beaches and dog friendly beaches locally.
The area is jam-packed with things to do whether you take your bucket and spade to build sandcastles and poke around in the rockpools on East Looe Beach or Millendreath Beach, or walk along the coastal footpath between Looe and Polperro, rewarding your efforts with an ice-cream or a cold drink at either end. Looe Island and the water around it are part of a designated Marine Conservation Zone. Regular boat trips run from the mainland between April and September, allowing visitors to see the resident grey seals and variety of birds. There is no shortage of local guides offering boat tours, and businesses where you can hire surfboards, paddle boards or kayaks.
Plants thrive in Cornwall's climate and there are lots of lovely places to enjoy their beauty. The Eden Project and the Lost Garden of Heligan are two of the best-known gardens in Cornwall, but you can also visit Trewithen, Trelissick, and the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery. The National Trust manages several stunning properties including Lanhydrock and Cotehele. Other top attractions in South- East Cornwall include the Monkey Sanctuary, Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary, Adrenalin Quarry and Port Eliot. Bodmin Moor is a special favourite and easily accessible.
Staying at The Old Rectory gives you the best of both worlds - easy access to Cornwall's world famous beaches and attractions with the space, peace and grandeur of an historic country property.

The six apartments at The Old Rectory have one or two bedrooms.
Our one bedroom apartments are Caerhays on the ground floor and Gorran on the first floor, with Daymer also available to couples in the quieter months.
Our two bedroom apartments are Daymer, Epphaven, Fowey and Heligan. Daymer and Fowey having stunning views over the valley and south terraces. These two apartments are also on the first floor. Heligan is located on the second floor and has a cosy cottage feels about it, with super views to the coast on a clear day.

Epphaven is a two bedroom, first-floor apartment that sleeps four people in its standard set-up, or up to six guests with additional beds, for which there is plenty of room in the large bedrooms.
The living room, dining room and kitchen are one sociable, open plan space. The room faces west and benefits from the afternoon sun.
There is a television and a DVD player, and the apartment also has superfast WiFi.
A well-equipped kitchen includes a microwave, cooker and a large fridge/freezer.
The master bedroom is a generously sized double and is dual aspect.
A twin room has two full-sized single beds with the potential for a further two single beds if required.
The family bathroom has a bath with shower above, WC and handbasin.

Guests benefit from the use of our peaceful award winning garden with seating and sun loungers. There is a large flat lawn area for ball games and a children's play area. A barbecue is available for guest use.
A games barn with air hockey, table football, table tennis and a pool table is popular with guests of all ages.
The outdoor pool is available from May half term to the end of August and is usually heated.
A separate laundry room has washing machines and a tumble drier - there is a small cost for their use.
There is off street parking in a pretty courtyard which has an EV charge point

Additional Information: The apartments have super fast WiFi and night storage heating. Prices include electricity, bed linen and towels. Heating between the months of Sept to April is also included (outside of this period a charge applies). Depending on availability, Epphaven can be booked together with other apartments to accommodate larger groups. Well behaved pets are welcome with prior agreement from the owner at a small additional charge.
Smoking is not allowed inside the building.
Arrival days are flexible to suit your needs. Short breaks are available from September to May and on a last minute basis during the busier summer months. Pricing is based on a two bedroom apartment; the tariff for a one bedroom option is lower and we welcome enquiries from couples or solo travellers.
