Overview
Description
Lower Polnish is a one of a kind self-catering cottage as it cannot be reached by road, (unless you own a real 4x4 and have nerves of steel), however a week or two at Lower Polnish more than repays the effort of a 300 yard walk down a steep wooded valley and across a babbling burn (handily it has a bridge) to reach this romantic, secluded and picturesque seaside cottage. Built in 1750 within a stone’s throw of the sea, and with miles of private shore that is just waiting to be explored. Lower Polnish was completely renovated in 2018, with a new floor to ceiling glass extension so you can enjoy the spectacular scenery. It has a wood-burning stove, magnificent views across the bay during the day, and if a cloudless night, fabulous views of the stars in the evening.Bedroom Details

Leave ReviewOld cottage in divine location
By Ms Catherine Grant on 31-Mar-2025Old cottage in divine location, restored with care and artistry to provide a charming and comfortable base for exploring the hills and coastline - or just sitting in the big glass porch (which has marvellous underfloor heating) and enjoying the views and wildlife.
The cottage and the setting was exactly described
By Mrs Heather Churches on 16-Oct-2024The cottage and the setting was exactly described and offered the seclusion we wanted. So very well equipped throughout, everything needed to cook full meals, and be totally self sufficient, the airfryer was a bonus and not expected. Loved the bird feeders which had been filled and had visitors a plenty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and totally recharged our batteries. Thank you.
A wonderfully relaxing week
By Dr Richard Shepherd on 14-Jul-2024A wonderfully relaxing week of peace with time to sit and watch the ever changing landscape. The cottage is isolated adding to the tranquility. The art work by Peter is inspirational! Totally recommended for time to decompress away from technology
A return visit
By Mr Robin Sharp on 25-May-2024A return visit for us to this idyllic property set in the most spectacular of places. We use a lot of holiday homes but Polish stands head and shoulders above the competition, it is clear the owners care for the property and guests, access may at times be hard but worth the effort and all good things are worth working for. We would not hesitate to recommend both the property and owners to potential guests, thank you once again
