Description
Award-winning 5* Basel Cottage is 2 miles from the beautiful Market Town of Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, set within the stunning Cambrian Mountains on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog).Sleeping 4 adults/children (with an additional foldaway bed/cot), up to 2 Dogs are welcome to stay free of charge.
This fabulous rural retreat is set in 17 acres of land with woods, fields and enclosed garden which is ideal for children and dogs to play.
The decked terrace overlooks the river which attracts a wealth of wildlife. The wonderful stone & slate terrace with a fire-pit is a MUST to experience the magnificent Dark Skies of Wales and an ideal setting for those al fresco evenings, utilising the outdoor furniture and BBQ.
There is also an enclosed private woodland equipped with mown pathways and seating dotted throughout. Additionally in the woods, there is a fabulous hand-built wooden Cabin, a perfect spot to relax, read a book or do some bird watching.
Activities On-Site:
For guests seeking more adventurous activities on site, we offer professional instruction in Archery and Target Air Rifle Shooting (booking essential). On-site, there is also an ‘agricultural’ 4 Hole Pitch & Putt Golf Course as well as a Games Room with Table Tennis, mini-Billiard Table, Bar Football, Darts and a full size Basket Ball Hoop for all to enjoy.
There is extensive parking available on-site as well as secure storage for both bicycle and motorbike. An EV Charger is also installed at Basel Cottage and is available for guests to use (additional charges apply).
Ground Floor:
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with Electric Oven and Ceramic Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer and Dishwasher. Dining Table and Chairs.
Living Room: Spacious with Leather Sofas and Chairs, an Inglenook Fireplace with Wood Burning Stove and fabulous deep Window Seat to bird watch and make the most of the glorious views. TV with Free-Sat and Firestick, a DVD player, Retro Play Station and Superfast Wi-Fi.
Utility Room: Washing Machine, Sink, Iron, Ironing Board, Drying Rack.
Cloakroom: Wash-Basin and WC.
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: Super-King Bed, dual aspect with views over the garden and the River Bran. En-Suite Shower Room with Walk-In Shower, Wash-Basin and WC.
Bedroom 2: Zip and Link Super-King Bed (can be made into Twin Beds on request) with views over the grounds and River Bran.
Family Bathroom: Full-Size Bath, with Shower Attachment, Wash-Basin and WC.

7th Visit in 10 Years!

The fields and woods have obviously had so much time spent on them since we first came, each year we notice changes – amazing! Our ‘dog holiday’ once again surpassed our expectations, thank you Sue, Jonah, Barney and Teddy! See you again next year.
