Description
La Grange is a beautiful, six bedroom home nestling in a quiet valley near the market towns of Magnac Laval, Limoges and Poitiers in this wonderful region of the Haute-Vienne. Dating back to the 18th Century, with it's exposed beams and well trodden stairs, La Grange wraps you into it's embrace. Although many of it's original features have been retained, we offer our guests all "mod cons" including a new super swish dining kitchen, an eco-friendly wood fired hot tub and good wifi.... There are 3 bedrooms in the "old side" of the house, with a further 3 bedrooms in the "new side). The spacious living room is reminiscent of an old hunting lodge and is perfect for an afternoon snooze with a book.To the front of the house are the well-tended Mediterranean gardens with a good size private fenced swimming pool which can be heated upon request at an extra cost (which depends on the season - check with us). To the rear of the house are extensive lawned areas which are perfect for kicking a ball around or just lazing under one of the gnarled old trees. Use one of our complimentary bikes to ride into Magnac Laval for your morning croissants..............although La Grange is in a lovely quiet area, there is much to explore.........head to the local towns for weekly markets, restaurants and cafés; for more adventurous days drive 30 minutes to the sandy beaches of Lac St. Pardoux for water-skiing, canoeing, fishing and woodland walks.
Work up an appetite before heading home for your alfresco dinner under the setting sun. Perfection!

By Alex Coles on 24-Aug-2024Great house for 2 families, perfect for what we wanted. Lots of seating areas, kitchen was really well equipped. Pool and hot tub awesome. Nearby lake is good for beach and water sports. Hosts were great and gave good recommendation for a food festival in a nearby town. The house is in a very peaceful location, surrounded by countryside, which was great most of the time but if you want restaurants or activities it’s a drive. I would recommend the house though as it’s really well set up for a week with friends or family.

It was perfect for a relaxing holiday for all members of the family. We would thoroughly recommend staying at La Grange, thank you Brian and also John and Fiona, who greeted us.
The house is beautiful in a great location.

Charming Accommodation

Beautiful House

We enjoyed a delightful stay in a large house, also very nice that there were several seating areas over the property. Communication with the housekeepers went super raft, very friendly people. Everything was completely fine upon arrival, the hot tub was even already heated. The package of local products also tasted us. Had a great trip!!
