Follow the iconic Rue de Jerzual, a steep, cobbled street lined with half-timbered houses, to reach the upper town, where medieval architecture highlights Dinan’s timeless charm. The quay, with its restored stone houses now hosting waterfront restaurants, offers a peaceful and captivating setting. With all amenities close at hand, there’s really no need for a car; buses, trains, and the "Bus de Mer" water taxi service provide easy access to Dinard and Saint-Malo. EXPLORING THE LOCAL AREA
Explore the medieval heart of Dinan by walking up the scenic Rue de Jerzual, a journey back in time through cobblestone streets and ancient architecture. And if coastal adventures call, the stunning Emerald Coast, home to some of France’s most beautiful sandy beaches, is just a short drive away.

You'll also enjoy easy access to all that Dinan and the surrounding area have to offer. Hop on the Bus de Mer (Company Corsaire) for a scenic boat ride to the very popular nearby towns of St. Malo and Dinard, perfect for a coastal day trip. Additionally, the Jaman V, a popular riverboat, offers several daily trips between the port of Dinan and Léhon, providing another way to explore the region.

For cycling enthusiasts, the towpath at Dinan Port offers a delightful ride along the flat, well-maintained route beside the scenic Rance River. Cyclists can enjoy stunning views of the water, lush greenery, and charming boats at the port. The path leads to nearby attractions, including the historic village of Léhon, with its abbey and medieval charm. Along the way, riders can spot wildlife, stop for a riverside picnic, or visit quaint cafes. It's a perfect route for a leisurely ride, also ideal for families and nature lovers.

For more local exploration, a complimentary shuttle bus service, Dinamo, runs daily from the port to Dinan town center every 45 minutes, Monday through Saturday. With convenient transport options at your doorstep, La Maison Cachée offers the perfect blend of riverside relaxation, historic charm, and beach escapes for a truly memorable getaway.

"What An Absolute Gem"

By Anna, Bill, Linley & Mark Tomasini on 09-Sep-2024

What an absolute gem of a place - both La Tannerie and Dinan. We loved our stay. Thank you Guillaume & Marina for the care you have taken to make La Tannerie a cosy, homely stay in Beautiful Dinan. Thank you also to Judith for your help at every stage. We felt at home, far from our home in Melbourne Australia. Best wishes to you all.

"Magnificent Views of the Old Port"

By Cedric, Iris, Philippe & Jackie P on 27-Aug-2024

A lovely spacious property with magnificent views of the old port and the ramparts of Dinan. A very pleasant atmosphere in the neighbourhood, lively but not overcrowded. Watch the port wake up in the morning, and the ramparts lit by the rising sun, we were never tired of it! The house is beautiful, well equipped, very comfortable beds and seating and very functional. We didn't miss anything. Communication with Judith was perfect.

“The location is absolutely perfect“

By George S & Family on 12-Aug-2024

We had a wonderful time! The location is absolutely perfect, very nice environment. The property was very nicely decorated, very clean and well equipped. Small restaurants close and across the river. (Everything closes well before midnight, so nights are quiet) From the house you can walk straight into cozy Dinan. Bakery across the street! The property is beautiful and complete. The beds are excellent and the WiFi is very good! There are canoes for rent nearby as well as bicycles. The bike paths are fantastic! We had a fantastic week with our family with children between 15 and 26! Absolutely recommended! Thank you very much Judith

"This property comes highly recommended"

By David, Pipa, Charlotte, Clara & Jamie T on 22-Aug-2023

This property is perfectly located on the bank of the river Rance. A very short walk across the bridge allows access to a multitude of restaurants to cater for all tastes. A lovely walk into the spectacular town of Dinan (up a rather steep but amazingly beautiful cobbled hill) opens up further culinary opportunities and beautiful views from the old castle and ramparts. The house is extremely well appointed and catered for our family of five brilliantly – private parking in the courtyard was a definite bonus too. We explored the area around us extensively however; it was always quite a pull to leave Dinan and a real welcome upon our return each day. This property comes highly recommended!

"A very memorable stay"

By Florence & Stephen R on 09-Aug-2023

Beautiful property along the river Rance. Ideal for exploring Dinan. Immediate proximity to bike rental, boat (canoe, kayak, small motor boat). Hiking. Great selection of restaurants around. La Tannerie is ideally situated, spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable accommodation with a lovely terrace, a real sun-trap! Thanks Judith for a very memorable stay.

"Book with confidence"

By Carole & Philipe C on 23-Jul-2023

The property is fabulous and the host will guide you through all of your needs, everything was perfect for our family. The top thing we enjoyed was the location, right on the river, with a few nice restaurants right nearby, boat rentals, and easy access up to the center of town. Other things we enjoyed were that each bedroom has its own bathroom, plus a powder room on the first floor, the open garden/sun terrace area at the rear, and the easy comfort of the home. Judith was very sweet and helpful and great with communication. We would recommend this comfortable home as a nice base to explore the area. We were in fact very sad to leave!
