I stayed at the cottage and had a lovely break. It was only me and my cockerpoo but I felt safe and there was a lovely walk right on the doorstep! I found a book in the cottage with lots of walks around the lakes that I made use of. The cottage is tucked away but just a short drive to the lake which was great. The cottage was clean and well presented with everything you need! I was welcomed with a bottle of fizz in the fridge and a wide selection of quality hot drinks and biscuits- what more could you want! 100% recommend!

We stayed at Thornyfield cottage and had a fantastic break. On this occasion to the Lakes we wanted to be set back but still close to the breathtaking views and walks. The owners where more than helpful, made our stay more relaxing. We wondered around the small spaced out accommodation options Thornyfield had to offer and they are all exemplary. The barn conversion was that good I tried to book it serval times with it being so popular so if you get a chance I would highly recommend staying. The cottage is a fine example of historical class and furnished to a high standard. Open fire and a hot tub was what made the stay extra special. Of a night there is virtually no light pollution so clear sky opened the way to stars you don''t really see in suburbia. We had a few meals in the local pubs which we pre booked taxis for. But stayed in and about the cottage and it''s access to beautiful walks mainly. One of the most relaxing and memorable short breaks we''ve had in the lakes and I could not recommended it enough.

We have stayed in Thornyfield Cottage twice now and would have returned had it not been for the pandemic. It’s a lovely gem of a place nestled away from all the noise of life. We took our dog too who enjoyed the walks that were on the doorstep and found the local pub who served great food. The cottage was spotless and perfect. We will return

Definitely 5 star rating, I’ve stayed at the Barn & the cottage, both are immaculate, The Barn is spacious enough so your not under everyone’s feet. The bedrooms and bathrooms are exceptional. I don’t think the pictures do it justice. The views are out of this world. In the cottage they have made a veranda so you can just sit outside and just take the scenery in, perfect with a nice glass of wine. The cottage is so cosy and nice, perfect for just me and the dog. We loved it that much were going back in November…

The cottage was amazing, finished to a high spec. Garden was beautiful we loved sitting in the hot tub listening to the peace and quiet. There were a couple of walks right on the doorstep which were perfect for our dog as she has bad joints and can’t walk far. Kitchen was fantastic the type you’d want if you won the lottery. We would love to go back
