A charming, log fire lit, warm and romantic cottage for two. Salkeld Cottage displays the original timber beams and rafters with a snug lofted bedroom. The lounge area, furnished with cosy leather sofas, is just right for curling up around the large log burning stove and Smart TV.
This peaceful accommodation is near to the village of Gilcrux: close to quaint market towns like Cockermouth, Keswick and Maryport. A unique and beautiful self contained romantic cottage, with the sea one way and mountains the other….

Salkeld cottage is one of our most welcoming country cottages for two people. If your looking for a cosy cottage with lots of classic old English charm, then Salkeld is the holiday property for you.

The mahogany kitchen is fully equipped for preparing romantic candlelit dinners around a classic pine table. Immediately outside the kitchen/dining area is a four seat bistro set for enjoying the morning sun with breakfast, whilst listening to the babbling brook and birdsong.

The lofted and gallery bedroom area gives a snug, chalet feel, in addition it has a four-poster bed with mahogany furniture. Another digital TV is located at the foot of the bed. The bathroom is fully fitted with bath/shower and the bath area converts into a steam cubicle for two.

Laundry facilities (with iron and ironing board) are opposite the cottage.

Fuel for the fire can be provided and it costs £15 for enough to last approximately 2 nights.

Don,t forget the Hot Tub! Any of our cottages can privately hire the 6 seater hydrotherapy spa, situated in it's own log cabin within the grounds.

Surprise your partner! Flowers, champagne, chocolates, balloons, a fruit basket or wine can be arranged to greet you on your arrival. Please request this at the time of booking.

Dog friendly and accept up to two dogs in this cottage for a charge of £5 per night per dog.

The electricity is paid for by a £1 coin meter (approx £3 a day) bed and kitchen linen is provided and we can provide bath towels for a small extra charge.
