Description

Bridge House is a spacious, ancient, elegant and quirky house on the bridge over the River Viaur, a little known gem in the heart of glorious South West France region of Occitanie.
The rear balcony overlooks the best fresh-water swimming and beach scene for miles and you’ll be only a few steps away! The front faces the heart of the lively village with shops, cafés, restaurants, markets and even a mainline railway station.
Bridge House is good for a couple, or a family or a group of friends. It boasts a large family room with custom-made oak french windows to the balcony, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one ensuite) and a downstairs cloakroom, an upstairs lounge that easily becomes a third double bedroom. There’s no private parking at Bridge House but there is plenty in the village.

Set in the historic Golden Triangle region of South West France, near Cordes-sur-Ciel, Albi, Gaillac and St Antonin du Noble Val, on the edge of the limestone Quercy region, Laguépie was an important ancient marketplace on the confluence of the Aveyron and Viaur rivers. The village is on the major pilgrimage routes and was defended by a splendid castle, now illuminated at night; it is still a crossroads serving three distinct areas.
Laguepie has all the shops, cafés and restaurants you need, plus twice-weekly markets, numerous festivals, fairs and events and even tennis and mini-golf. It’s a paradise for bathers, walkers, cyclists and anglers, within easy reach of the medieval splendours of Najac, L’Abbé de Beaulieu, Cordes-sur-Ciel and Villefranche-de-Rouerge.
We love it and we are confident you will too!

Laguépie is about 8-10 hours drive from the channel ports, but, happily, it has its own railway station. This means that if you don’t drive or hire a car you can come all the way by train – either via Paris and Capdenac, or you can fly into Toulouse and take the train northwards. The service is reliable but not that frequent, so check your connections carefully – try the Trainline App. Toulouse Blagnac airport is not far from Toulouse Matabiau train station but allow 40 minutes to get there by shuttle bus (9€), 50 by tram and metro (1.99€), 25 by taxi (35€). Taxi all the way from Blagnac, Rodez or Montauban TGV station will cost ‘an arm and a leg’, but an unofficial ride costs about 100€ and we can connect you with a local driver.
