We stayed at Townhead Barn during November for my partners birthday and to show our friends the Lakes. It's in the perfect setting - a picturesque village, with traditional houses, farms and a pub with delicious food. It's is also just off the A66, so quiet but very conveniently located for Keswick, Penrith and only 30 mins from Windermere. There are walks directly from the barn which take you up hills or along valleys. If you have dogs, the barn has a garden big enough for them to run around and a utility room stocked with everything you need. The barn has a parking space, and is a great space for a really restful stay. The views from both sides couldn't be better.
The property was very spacious and well equipped, with lovely walks right from the door! The location was excellent for travelling in all directions to explore the northern lakes and Keswick was only 3 miles away. All the mountain roads are fantastic, but I would especially recommend Newlands Pass to the south west of Keswick, with Moss Force Waterfall along the way. We weren't hiking, but still found lots of beautiful short walks! Would stay at this property again.
Wonderful place, idyllic location, great hosts and reasonably priced to boot, would definitely stay here again, we all had such an enjoyable incredible week!
