From the moment we contacted the owners, to the moment we returned home, their mantra of ‘our home is your home’ felt genuine. The kitchen (the hub of the house for the adults) was extremely well equipped and included the largest selection of crockery, tableware, pots, pans and cutlery you could wish for. Everything was so clean and well maintained throughout, it was very impressive. The bedrooms were comfortable, with sumptuous duvets and very comfortable mattresses. The games room and the boxes we discovered in there were a huge bonus (and used a lot!) Combined with the lovely warm pool, we were always keen to return after a day out. The views from the patio, combined with the tranquility, were amazing and probably one of the highlights, particularly at night with the uninterrupted view of the stars. Other than crickets, or an occasional animal sound, you could hear a pin drop. We could really relax in the evening, either in the lounge, on the patio or just sat around the large dining table. With so many games and activities, we were never bored. There was not a single thing we could fault with the property or the owners and my only disappointment is that any review cannot do it justice – just visit and find out for yourself!
Just enjoyed a wonderful fortnight in this fantastic house, very clean, well equipped, lovely spacious sunny garden complete with BBQ. Plenty to do, lovely clean pool, games room, even has a wii and PlayStation 3 complete with games. Lovely little village with a great restaurant, le Charley’s, ate there a couple of times, fab food and friendly happy staff, even let us buy some milk when we arrived late on the Saturday evening! Great communication with Mark, the owner, answered all questions before we arrived swiftly, was also quick to help when we had a sight problem one evening. Plenty to do out and about, highly recommend le terres de natae animal park, lac de guerdelan and chateau de traverez, which was very impressive. Lots of lovely villages, Quimperle, Pontivy and Concarneau, with its medieval type old town. Also worth a visit is Carnac and it’s famous stones, fantastic commentary in many languages on the little train tour. Would highly recommend
Immaculate well equipped house. Spacious and has everything you could want or need. Comfy beds, shutters and lots of space make it really comfortable. Perfect for families, the children loved the pool and trampoline and pool table. There is toys and games and a stair gate was a real plus to give piece of mind. The village is lovely and I can recommend le Charly’s, we found best if you book ahead.
We spent a week at Ty Charmian, a family of 5. The house is very spacious, was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed to feel right at home, including a great games room and outdoor games/hammocks. We were seeking some peace and privacy and the house gives you exactly that. The TV is easy to use and links straight to iplayer. The kitchen is very well equipped. The lovely pool was essential given we had such unusually hot weather for most of our week and we really enjoyed cooling off then sitting in the southerly aspect large, well tended, gardens. The grounds are expansive and there is plenty of parking which you can close the gates on if needed. Within the village itself and just a few minutes walk from the house is Le Charly's, an excellent restaurant (we ate there twice) where you can also order bread and croissants for morning collections. They helped us with our french speaking and were very friendly. Places like Pontivy and Lorient are within easy reach and are well worth a visit. You can walk and cycle to many other nearby villages from here, and the countryside is expansive and peaceful. Overall we really enjoyed our family time, made good use of the BBQ but we did struggle to sleep given the unusually hot weather and the battle with wanting open windows for ventilation and the prolific countryside flies (which must have been worse than usual due to the weather). Some fly screening/mesh for the windows might help with this. Some sun loungers or better furniture for the rear patio would also be a great addition, we spent a lot of time sitting out in the garden. We would definitely return to Ty Charmian, but likely during a time of the year when its less likely to be as hot.
Really great property Excellent amenities Lots of space Nice garden and pool
What a lovely comfortable gite. The owners had thought of everything to make this gite the perfect place for a holiday. The beds were comfortable and the location very peaceful. Everything worked as it should and we really enjoyed our stay. We were unable to use the pool as often as we would have liked due to an unusual amount of rain. The little local restaurant served us well and the food was delicious. Great place to stay.
