Leave ReviewThe house itself is absolutely spot on with everything you could need
By Sue & George Andison on 12-Oct-2024Very easy to book with, once this was done you get a lot of useful info on the house, what's there and what you will need to bring. Also a lot of info on the area which is very helpful. The house itself is absolutely spot on with everything you could need. A very private back garden where can sit and relax listening to the local Pétanque group meeting and playing just over the wall. Martin was a pleasure to deal with and would book with him if we were thinking of another visit to Jard-Sur-Mer.
We love Jard Sur Mer In general and this house in particular
By Lesley and Tom Bell on 07-Sep-2024We love Jard Sur Mer in general, and this house in particular. For us, it feels like ‘coming home’. It’s clean, comfortable and well-resourced. The beds are comfortable and the wi-fi is very effective. The integrated garage gives access to a washing machine and freezer, and the little garden is a sun trap. We love listening to the games of pétanque being played over the wall! The house sits in a quiet residential street, which is very close to all of the town’s amenities. You could enjoy yourself without having to move your car! We have stayed here on several occasions over the last eleven years, but usually in July, so we were curious to see what it would be like in September. We loved it! The town takes on a more relaxed atmosphere as the locals reclaim their town. We always found a table in the local cafés, where we were able to enjoy our coffee and watch the world go by, before visiting the wide range of local shops to buy ingredients for the evening meal. The Monday market is still busy and vibrant, and it’s great to be able to practise your French with the very friendly traders. The Port de Plaisance, which is only a 15 minute walk from the house, offers views of the ocean, sandy beaches and a row of restaurants and cafés. It’s lovely to have a meal or a drink in a restaurant with a view! Further afield, there is an array of towns, villages and attractions to visit, that will entertain the young and the old alike. Martin’s level of communication, both before the vacation and, in written form within the house, reflects the level of care he takes with his property. We look forward to returning in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend visiting out with the peak season.
A lovely week staying in your cottage in Jard Sur Mer
By Angela Welsh on 29-Jul-2023We had a great week staying in your cottage in Jard sur mer. It is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. The large garage was very useful to store our bikes. The cottage is 2 minutes’ walk form the centre of town with shops and cafes. We enjoyed the excellent wine shop and the well-stocked fruit and vegetable shop. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance, we loved Le Terasse Gourmand. The local beaches were lovely with great waves just a 15 minute walk away or a short drive further round the coast. We had a great time with our 2 teenage daughters and hope to return soon.
Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is provided
By Thelma Taylor on 03-Jun-2023We have stayed at this property a number of times and still love coming back. It is home from home - everything you need for a relaxing holiday is provided. It is well equipped from Brillo pads to fabric conditioners, beach umbrella to a set of beach boule. It provides spacious and comfortable living accommodation, together with a secluded suntrap garden and patio with table and chairs - just right for a relaxing meal and glass of wine. The lounge features flat screen tv (both English and French reception) together with Blue ray DVD and Wi-Fi. It is a two minute walk to the centre of a lovely and vibrant seaside town, with several patisseries, a butcher and fantastic fresh vegetable shop. There is also an excellent supermarket 3 minutes drive away. There are a number of beautiful sandy beaches close by where you can swim, wind surf or just walk. There is a terrace bar not far from the house and a variety of very good restaurants close to the harbour and sea front about 15 minutes walk away. It is a very friendly and welcoming town and the perfect place to enjoy many wonderful holidays!
House is very well equipped with modern appliances
By Lucy on 01-Oct-2022My friend and I stayed here at the start of October and were blessed with lovely autumn sunshine so were able to take full advantage of the the wonderful beaches in the area, as well as the garden. The house is very well equipped, with modern appliances, everything you might need in the kitchen, fast wi-fi and the ability to Bluetooth to the Hi-Fi. There are thoughtful touches, such as games, books about the area and wine so you can improve your knowledge before the trip to the supermarket to take some home! There is plenty of space in the house, with comfy beds and sofas, and plenty of storage space (including lots of hangers!) There is everything you need to enjoy the garden - plenty of seats, table, umbrella and BBQ, so you can relax with your book and listen to the locals playing boules over the wall. The house is an excellent base, situated in the centre of the town. If you don't want to get the car out again all holiday you don't need to as you are in walking distance of all essential holiday amenities, including boulangeries with amazing patisseries for holiday treats. There are plenty of restaurants providing everything from snacks to three course meals. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be back!
Spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped
By Tim Burton on 09-Jul-2022This property is clearly a family home as well as a rental. It is spacious, spotlessly clean, and extremely well equipped. Jard sur Mer itself is a lovely location - there are boulangeries, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the property. The small enclosed garden is a sun trap and lovely for meals outside. The weather when we stayed was extremely hot even by French standards so we didn’t use this space as much as we had intended. We would highly recommend this property. The only (very small) downside to the property - in the high temperatures that we had - was that a pool would have been a welcome addition.
