The Longhouse is our holiday home on a family croft on the Isle of Lewis built to our design as our perfect holiday home connecting me back to the island where I was born. With 2 bedrooms for 4 guests, we fitted it out to the It is fully equipped to the highest self-catering standards with all you need for a perfect stay, a healthy dose of luxury and close to the beach in an area of peaceful, natural beauty. In the perfect location to explore history, culture and wildlife, the house is set low on the hillside with wide, uninterrupted views east, south and west to watch the world go by and weather change throughout the day, a special place to escape and relax. The spacious double–height open plan living/dining/kitchen area has large windows bringing the outside in and glass doors opening south onto a large wraparound deck. Upstairs is a quiet relaxing area upstairs with viewing balcony and wifi-connected office area. Underfloor heating keeps oak floors warm underfoot and a multi-fuel stove keeps you cosy. The kitchen area is well stocked. Bedrooms face south to make the most of the views. The master suite with superking bed, has a wet-room style ensuite. The second bedroom (superking or twin) sits opposite the bathroom with relaxing bath and separate shower.Bedroom Details

A wonderful place to stay
By Neil M. on 22-Oct-2024Our stay at the Lewis Long House was brilliant. The position is excellent, a short drive from Stornoway so easy to access the town’s restaurants and shops. The view from the house is amazing and nice beach to walk on. The house is modern and beautifully decorated. It contains everything you need for a comfortable stay.

We could not ask for a better experience stepping into a home built and designed with heart, mind, and soul. The location was ideal, facilitating the exploration of the Isles of Lewis and Harris. We would highly recommend this incredible getaway to anyone who cherishes Scotland's incredible natural beauty and the genuine and warm hospitality of the Scottish people.
A Trip to the Hebrides

The Longhouse is in a great location to allow you to explore the island whilst also having amenities like shops and restaurants not too far away in Stornoway. The house itself is beautiful, in a lovely location with some beautiful beach walks more or less on your doorstep. The attention to detail in the house is exceptional - there is literally everything you could possibly need to have a great holiday!
