Description

Our characterful and comfortable 19th century cottage is in a fabulous location right on the Quay overlooking the harbour.

All windows at the front have harbour views and the top bedroom at the rear has views of the Bristol Channel.

The rear courtyard hides a secret sunny garden and a secluded Canadian Spa Co six person hot tub. With table and chairs too, it's the perfect spot for alfresco dining.

Our garden room has secure space for wet gear, boards and bikes.

All of Ilfracombe is on the doorstep. Tunnels beach and wedding venue are nearby.

Dog friendly: up to two dogs are welcome at no extra charge - please get in touch if you want to bring more.
Also we can provide lots of recommendations for dog friendly establishments nearby.

Things to do:

Wonderful walks start from the front door, with many more available further afield eg Woolacombe with its vast golden beach or the drama of Exmoor.

You will find kiosks at the end of the Quay where (in season) you can book boat trips, coastal cruises, deep sea fishing and sea-life safaris as well as day trips to Lundy Island.

The more adventurous might like to try coasteering, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding from the Watersports Hub

Along the Quay and in the surrounding streets there are restaurants, cafes, tea gardens and pubs, many with outside seating.

You will find many art and craft galleries and small shops selling gifts and seaside goods as well as clothes, shoes and local produce.

St Nicholas Chapel perched on the top of Lantern Hill built in 1361, houses England’s oldest working lighthouse.

Ilfracombe Aquarium is a fun all-weather attraction and café.

Quirky Ilfracombe Museum is well worth a visit.

The working RNLI lifeboat station is open to the public and houses Ilfracombe’s Shannon class lifeboat. Watch the weekly practice launches from the sitting room window.

You can't miss Damien Hirst’s ‘Verity’, a 20m tall bronze statue, overlooking the harbour entrance

This was our 2nd time staying at Helen’s place and we loved it just as much as the first time. Last time we stayed as a group (4 adults 2 toddlers) and this time just us (2 adults, 1 toddler and 1 dog) and each time it perfectly met our needs. The house is perfect, a home away from home and in the most beautiful setting. Its location makes it perfect for exploring the local area and beyond! Thank you Helen for another great stay.

We loved our stay. Location was amazing, very very central but still felt very private. The property is lovely and very well kept. It was our first time at Ilfracombe and it's left a fantastic first impression We'll be back for sure. Highly recommended
