Perfect break away from it all

By Janet Crabbe on 12-Oct-2024

We absolutely fell in love with Clayhooter, Lumsden and Aberdeenshire. The house and garden were beyond our needs- just fabulous. The dogs loved the space, we loved watching the wild life. It was just a perfect escape from real life. Graham and Hazel were lovely and very accomadating and helpful as owners and Karen was brilliant as person on hand. Clayhooter is perfectly placed for beach or forest days exploring. We will be back. The maximum scores are 5 but I would give them more if I could.❤️

Trip to the Highlands

By Karen Kaufman on 24-Feb-2023

We had a lovely stay at Clayhooter! It was a spacious house that was comfortable and clean.Graham was very attentive to any questions as was the neighbour, Karen. We went on a wonderful hike and even met a friendly horse and some highland coos. I can''t recommend this place enough. Thanks so much!

Just what we wanted

By James Collings on 29-Nov-2022

Very spacious property, ideal for our group of five adults and two dogslooking for a quiet place out in the country. It had everything we needed including a well stocked larder left by previous guests! Would definitely recommend, it really lived up to its billing.

Lovely spacious property, which was ideal for our big party. Great amenities and perfect location for exploring surrounding areas. Exceptional host, who couldn''t have been more helpful.

Calm, Quiet, Well-Appointed with stunning Views.

By Alan Painter on 07-Aug-2022

We spent 6 nights at the Lumsdenhouse and loved every minute of it. The bedrooms and beds are lovely. The bathrooms are very comfortable. The kitchen is nice and large, well provosioned. The views from the sitting and dining rooms are superb. The views of Clayhooter are fascinating and ever-changing, sometimes partially obscured by fog and low clouds. There are lots of little rabbits running about, the occasional deer and bird of prey. Very little artificial lighting outdoors at night so perfect for stargazing. We found the owner very communicative and the house very well managed. I am planning to return as soon as I can.
