Description
Daneholme is an elegant Edwardian villa in the historic quarter of Hunstanton, overlooking Lincoln Square. The house retains some original features and has high ceilings and good sized rooms throughout.
The house provides an excellent family base for a holiday in this traditional seaside town, who’s claim to fame is being the only west facing resort on the east coast. Hunstanton therefore enjoys the most incredible sunsets.
The house sleeps 9 in five bedrooms with three bathrooms and a downstairs WC. Three bedrooms having sea views including the master. There are three double bedrooms, a twin and a single room, so a good choice for all the family.
On the ground floor you have a good sized sitting room with TV and comfortable sofas, a large dining room, a smaller dining room/snug with a screen for casting or gaming. To the rear is a well equipped kitchen.
Outside to the rear you have a sunny walled garden, a nice suntrap for evening drinks. To the front there is a walled garden which is perfect to sit out and enjoy the sunset in the evenings or enjoy your morning coffee looking out to sea.
Parking can be found on a first come basis around the immediate area.
Hunstanton is famous for being the only eastern seaside resort that actually faces west, so gets the most amazing sunsets right over the sea. The resort was originally founded in Victorian times by Henry Styleman Le Strange, who’s family still reside locally. The beautiful Victorian and Edwardian villas, many built from carrstone or ‘honeystone’ as it’s known locally, found in the historic quarter of the town reflect this former glory. A wander around this part of the town is something many visitors miss, so it is worth a visit to to the local Heritage Centre to find out a bit more.
Of course many people flock to Hunstanton for the beaches, which are sandy and backed with dunes and beach huts. To the south end of the beach you will find traditional seaside treats like a children’s fun fair, slot machines and some glorious fish and chips! Head to Reg’s for fish and chips with a view over the Wash from their balcony, front row seats for the sunsets.
Hunstanton is the perfect place for a weekend break or a family holiday, with plenty to do for everyone.
