Only 5 – 10 minutes’ walk away is Old Hunstanton’s soft sandy beach and dunes. This charming village is very popular with its restaurants, village shop and delicatessen. Hunstanton town centre and many other holiday amenities are about half a mile in the other direction, although the busy ‘land train’ which stops near the lighthouse travels along the cliff tops, stopping at the town centre and onwards to the south end of the town where you will find Tesco supermarket, the fairground and prior to those, the theatre, leisure centre, bowling and more. Walking along the cliff tops to Hunstanton is a ‘must’ at any time of year whilst you take in the magnificent panoramic views of the Wash and beyond with flocks of birds, fishing boats and distant ships all catching the tide.
To explore further along the coast and inland you only have to travel within a small radius to visit Bird Reserves, Stately Homes, Golf Links, Norfolk Lavender and many more places of interest in this area of outstanding natural beauty. The busy village of Burnham Market locally renamed as Chelsea-on-sea with its wide selection of boutique and antique shops plus a variety of independent shops.
