Description

Garden Cottage overlooks lawns and fruit trees, where abundant wildlife includes many types of birds as well as pipistrelle bats. It offers visitors a peaceful and tranquil holiday.

The cottage comprises two rooms and a bathroom. To the right of the front door is a large beamed living room with vaulted ceiling, two comfy settees, WIFI, freeview TV and DVD player whilst at one end is a kitchenette offering full-size fan oven, dishwasher, sink, small under-counter fridge with separate freezer compartment, microwave and toaster, and table and chairs. To the left of the hallway is a spacious double-bedded room with an adjacent bathroom offering bath with electric shower over, basin and toilet. The washing machine is adjacent to the cottage, and pegs, laundry basket and clothes line are provided. There is also additional freezer storage in there if required. The property is centrally heated outside the summer months, and an electric fire is available for cooler summer evenings. Garden Cottage is south-facing and visitors enjoy sitting in their private garden, reading, eating or just watching the wildlife.

The cottage is located 6 miles from the Georgian town of Holt, with its excellent range of shops and restaurants. The many quiet lanes and off-road tracks are ideal for cycling and walking, while bird watchers will enjoy the local Raptor Point, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and the Blakeney and Cley marshes. Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall – both National Trust properties – are about 15 and 20 minutes distance respectively, and Sandringham, too, is easily accessed. Explore the North Norfolk Coast, with its clean, sandy beaches, as well as the Norfolk Broads and Norwich (30 mins), with its castle, theatres, shops and night-life. Within a 5-minute drive you will find: an excellent family-run butchery, 2 open-late general stores, scrumptious bakery (resist if you can!), fresh Cromer crabs and farm produce for sale, 2 takeaways and excellent pub food.

Holidays run from Friday to Friday at a cost of £330 per week. It is not necessary to contact the owner to check availability and cost prior to booking as that information is displayed on this site and is always up-to-date. Off-season short 5 night breaks may be offered at a cost of £250 . As Garden Cottage is on one level it is suitable for visitors with mobility issues, but please email the owner prior to booking to ensure that your needs can be met.

ALSO PROVIDED:
* free internet access
* freeview TV and DVD player in the living room
* bed linen and towels

Relaxing week in 'Garden Cottage'

By Sonia B. on 09-Apr-2017

We have just returned from a relaxing week in 'Garden Cottage'. From Val's warm welcome to the unusually warm April weather we were able to have a great holiday. Centrally placed in peaceful countryside we were easily able to visit the Broads and the North and East coasts along quiet roads and lanes. We would return to sit in the delightful garden with clumps of daffodils round apple trees and swathes of primroses. Our dog loved lying in the sun. We know where to come if we need to unwind and recharge our batteries. We will recommend this cottage to friends and hope to return. Sonia, Derek and Millie dog

Back again for our 4th visit, love this cottage, and val's hospitality, lovely and relaxing - booking again for next year, very dog friendly - always made to feel very welcome. Val is always around but not intrusive, willing to share her knowledge of the area. Just love it. Thank you - Janet, Ray and Annie Brace

A Warm Welcoming Home from Home

By Keith F. on 10-Apr-2016

The Property was the perfect home from home to explore the wonders and delights of Norfolk. Nestled in the countryside but only a 15 min drive from a main shopping area Val was the perfect Hostess always on hand if needed. The cottage had all that you would need in a well maintained lovely spacious cosy setting the garden was spacious with enough room for the dog to run around in. the wild life was lovely to see and hear from Woodpeckers, Rabbits and Owls. So thankyou Val for 2 wonderful weeks looking forward to returning again next year. Keith , Georgina , Vince the Dog

Garden Cottage

By Diane Gallagher on 07-Aug-2015

We must have chosen one of the worst weeks this summer to take our summer break, but despite that we had one of the best holidays ever. Garden Cottage was cosy and warm with all the facilities needed for a home from home feel. It is situated in beautiful countryside with easy access to city, towns, villages and the coast. Each day we returned from our explorations and relaxed in Garden Cottage with a glass of wine and the peace of the countryside all around us. This was all made even more satisfying by the care given by Val, a really lovely lady, who while not at all intrusive, was concerned for our comfort and enjoyment (particularly as she was unable to control the weather for our stay). Thank you Val for the use of your lovely cottage and your company and chats. We enjoyed sharing your little piece of heaven for our holiday week. Di & Mick Gallagher
