Located in the northern part of the Lake District National Park, this traditional barn conversion is surrounded by open countryside, green landscapes and stunning fells. The owner, who lives next door, has maintained the traditional feel of the property, and is often on hand to offer a warm welcome to guests.
The open plan layout upstairs incorporates original features such as a beamed ceiling and traditional barn style windows, whilst the kitchen is more than adequate to provide a hearty meal, though with many local country pubs offering fine ales, good food and excellent company, you may choose to leave cooking for another time. Downstairs, the double bedroom takes full advantage of the views straight from the bed, with an adjacent bathroom. Enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink in the enclosed garden and you may find yourself joined by either the resident red squirrels or one of the many wild birds that inhabit the area.
Nestled in a tranquil and peaceful location between the delightful village of Hesket Newmarket and Mungrisdale, Little Bay Byre is perfect for couples who like to get out and explore, you can head straight from the door to the nearby, quieter fells such as High Pike, Birkett and Bowscale Fell. If you prefer two wheels, there are numerous quiet country lanes to journey around on, and with covered storage next to the cottage, you are free to explore whenever and however you wish.
Nearby is Hesket Newmarket, famous for its micro-brewery and where you can enjoy one of the beers at its popular local inn, a mecca for real ale drinkers. A short drive away is the market town of Keswick and neighbouring lakes Bassenthwaite and Derwent Water, perfect for a gentle walk and cooling dip for your four legged friend. Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.
