We have just returned from an amazing week at the Granary, Tregathenan. The cottage was really clean, more spacious than we expected and very well equipped. The WIFI was also great which meant my husband could remote work with ease. The hosts, Ian and Liz, are really warm and welcoming. Providing a lovely cream tea or arrival and generally very helpful in so many ways. They''ve made lots of effort to make their cottage lets green and eco friendly. The whole area feels very safe and secure. The setting is rural, but really lovely with various animals to go visit/watch. There are supermarkets a short drive away and various households with honesty boxes to pick up home grown veg and eggs. Helston town centre also had some nice cornish bakeries and cafes for local produce. In terms of places to visit - as a family we enjoyed the family walk/cycle ride from Helston to Loe Bar and Pool. Even in the peak of summer the beach was not busy. We also visited Porthleven, which was busier but we enjoyed the food and milkshakes at Nauti but Ice. The beach at Praa Sands is lovely and sandy. We also enjoyed a long walk along Lizard Point, some picturesque beaches there. We did a Treasure Trail which added a different dimension to the walk. Highly recommend the Roskilly''s ice cream from the various outlets that sell it, or even a visit to the farm itself. Despite covid19 we felt most people were following guidelines and our holiday wasn''t negated in any way due to the pandemic. We''d highly recommend this cottage to anyone considering a holiday to Cornwall. It is very good value for money and you couldn''t ask for better hosts.
We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at Tregathenan in The Granary for a week, the place was beautiful, very clean and had everything you could want from a holiday cottage. Liz and Ian were very welcoming after a long journey and made sure we had everything we needed - including a lovely cream tea on arrival! The kids (and I) very much enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and we truly had a wonderful week staying in Cornwall. We will be back!
