Our beautifully restored, stone-built Victorian cottage is perfectly situated close to the historic cobbled main street of Haworth, in the heart of ‘Brontë Country’

Charming character cottage with original features, including Yorkshire Stone flagged floor, Inglenook fireplace with wood burner, original beams and exposed stonework.

There’s a courtyard garden, easy roadside parking and it’s just a 4 minute walk to shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes on historic Main Street.

Mulberry Cottage has had a varied past dating back to 1850. It started out life as a millworkers cottage. It was extended and converted into a shop, operating as an off-licence and a sweet shop in years gone by.

During the 21st century, it was converted back to the cottage it is now.

**Property Features**

* Gas central heating and wood-burning stove (starter basket of wood included)

* Well-equipped dining kitchen with original stone-flagged flooring. Dining table seating 4 which also doubles as a great workspace

* 2 x TV’s with Freeview, Roku smart TV in the lounge, DVD, Bluetooth speaker, free and fast WiFi, hairdryers, selection of books and games

* Two generous bedrooms featuring a king-size bed and a super king bed which can be split into two singles

* Roll top bath and separate walk-in shower

* Free roadside parking is available in front of the cottage

* Private enclosed gravelled garden with furniture and rotary airer

**Lounge:

A warm and inviting sitting room with a comfy leather corner sofa and a wood-burning stove in an original stone fireplace, beautiful feature beams and oak flooring. We offer a large television with Internet access and Roku movies. There is also a DVD player with a good selection of DVDs, lots of books and a Bluetooth speaker. A recent addition to the lounge is a rare antique grandfather clock made by John Barraclough of Haworth, clockmaker to the Brontë’s.

** Kitchen / Diner:

With an elevated view over the garden, the kitchen is recently fitted in a traditional cottage shaker style. It is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, retro fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster and all the cooking equipment needed for your stay. It has a fully restored Yorkshire Stone flagged floor and a large dining table with seating for four. There is a radio and USB charging point for your phones and devices.

** Rear Bedroom:

With a view over the garden and to the hills. A beautiful king-size sleigh bed and cast iron decorative fireplace make this a luxurious room with an elegant Victorian feel. Original features are prominent in this room with an exposed stone wall and lintel. The room also has lots of storage with a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers.

** Front Bedroom:

A bright room with a sumptuous super king bed which is a zip-n-link and can be split into two singles, if requested. The addition of a wall-mounted television with Freeview and a dressing table with a mirror makes this a great room for either adults or children. The room also has plenty of storage with a large wardrobe with drawers underneath.

** Bathroom:

The bathroom gives an opulent feel with a Victorian-style roll-top bath, vintage-style fittings and a separate shower. The original exposed stone wall and stone lintel give character to the room. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

** Garden:

The private cottage garden is accessed by steep stone steps with a handrail. With a living willow fence, it is a lovely enclosed space with a view of the hills at the side. Rattan furniture with seating for four and a rotary dryer, which folds away discretely. A wonderful area to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine and listen to the birds sing and the distant steam trains in the valley.

** Parking:

Sun Street has no parking restrictions on it and guests can usually park right outside the front door.

** Pets:

We keep our cottage ‘pet free’ for guests with allergies.

No types of pets are allowed and stays will be terminated if pets are found at the property.

** Safety & Suitability:

Unfortunately, the cottage is unsuitable for wheelchair users or people with restricted mobility due to the steep stairways and narrow doorways of the Victorian cottage.

** Location:

From Mulberry cottage, it’s just four minute walk to the village’s independent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes on the historic cobbled main street of Haworth in the heart of Brontë Country.

The cottage offers a wonderful base for guests looking to explore the village’s charming independent shops, pubs and restaurants as well as venture out into the picturesque Yorkshire Dales.

It is a short walk to the rugged ‘Wuthering Heights’ moors, which inspired the English literary Brontë sisters, with commanding views from Top Withens. Just around the corner is the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children.

The location perfect, just a few minutes walk to the Main Street.

By Ann-Marie on 20-Dec-2024

Perfect Christmas stay with my best friend. We look for cosy places to stay each December and this absolutely hit the spot! Julie was the perfect host. The cottage was so cosy and immaculate, from bed linen/towels to crockery etc… every amenity catered for. The log burner was just perfect…. The location perfect, just a few minutes walk to the Main Street. We will be highly recommending to family and friends. Thanks again Julie!

Mulberry Cottage was just lovely, a quaint homely cottage, cosy and all done out to a high quality, my mum and I loved it here. We lit the fire in the Thursday and it was just so cosy. The scenery and surroundings so beautiful and Haworth was such a quaint little village. Thank you for a lovely stay Julie and the lovely gifts left

comfortable beds and pillows and very quiet at night

By Shirley on 05-Jul-2024

We had a wonderful stay at Mulberry Cottage, it was a real home from home with everything you need and more. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and pillows and very quiet at night which made for a good night’s sleep. Parking right outside the door (free) which was great for unloading on arrival. Julie’s instructions for entry to the property were clear and there was no problem retrieving the key. I did contact Julie during our stay and she replied immediately. The Main Street is within walking distance as are all the lovely cafes and restaurants. Overall a wonderful stay in a lovely home.

Mulberry Cottage Review

By Elizabeth D on 14-Mar-2024

This treasure of a cottage is located in the centre of Haworth, only five minutes walk away from the main cobbled road which hosts a variety of artisan shops, cafes and restaurants. The cottage is both practical and luxurious providing a comfortable lounge, fully modernised kitchen and bathroom and two luxurious, spacious bedrooms offering generous central heating. The photographs of the interior fully met our expectations and proved to be accurate and realistic. Mulberry Cottage was the chosen location for our walking holiday and also our second visit. We would happily book again in the future and I cannot recommend Mulberry Cottage highly enough.
